Sandals Antigua

Hey girls,

    Has anyone been to Sandals Antigua?  If you have, what did you think of it? We went to Sandals Royal Bahamian (sp?) last year for our HM and loved it.  We were thinking of going somewhere this summer for a short trip before we start TTC and become parents.

Disclaimer: Our experience might have been out of the ordinary.  All of our siblings went to a Sandals resort for their honeymoons and again for vacations and had a wonderful time.  We went to Antigua and were miserable, poor service, non-stop problems, nothing got fixed even when we asked multiple times.  We met a few other couples during our honeymoon who had been to other Sandals or all-inclusives and they said that overall it was a disappointing comparison.  
Antigua itself is gorgeous but I think the resort might have some problems and you might be happier at a different one.

Thanks for the info.  When did you go to Sandals Antigua?  Was it recently? A friend from high school went with his GF and loved it so I was wondering when you guys went.  We went to Sandals in the Bahamas for our HM and loved it!!!

We went July 26-August 2, so relatively recently in my book.  Of course, given all the other positive experiences I know people have had at other Sandals resorts I'm willing to accept that we might have just had a string of REALLY bad luck carried over from our wedding.
Even so, before we found out we got our condo we were planning a trip to Jamaica (that will probably now be postponed a year).  We didn't completely write off Sandals as a result but we were heavily researching other all-inclusive resorts.
