Dinosaur party help!

I am having a dinosaur-themed party for my son that will be tunring two.  I think I will be doing grilled burgers with all the toppings for "carnivores" and salads and fruit for the "herbivores."  That food is not set it stone though.  Any suggestions to incorporate the theme in food or decorations?

 Thanks!

Re: Dinosaur party help!

  • I think you could divide the table into carnivore and herbivore and have several things with meat, several things with out...or even add an omnivore section with like chicken ceaser salad or some kind of combined thing...you can decorate each section with appopriate dinosaurs...

Ribs is the only other food that comes to mind

  • I like the idea of dividing the table, but as an "herbivore" (vegetarian) myself, I personally would like to see more than salad and fruit as an option. But if you're not inviting any vegetarians, don't worry about it. Wink

You could make popcorn balls and call them "dinosaur eggs."

  • It sounds like a fun party :)

Maybe see if you can find those claw dinosaur heads...usually like a dollar at a Dollar Store.  Those would be great favors.

A previous poster mentioned "dinosaur eggs" out of popcorn balls -- that's a great idea too!

  • Maybe you've made a special Dinosaur party decoration
  • You could make "dinosaur bones" for snacks - I've made them for Halloween.  You take a pretzel rod, stick a marshmallow on each end, and dip the whole thing in white chocolate.

You could get a 4 foot inflatable dinosaur. It would be cute for pictures and for the kids to play with.

Or maybe have a paleontologist excavation in the sand box?  Hide dinosaur toys in a sandbox and have the kiddos (and fun adults, too) dig to try to uncover stuff.

  • If you sew (and have some free time) I think something like this would be great for him!
