growing cauliflower

Has anyone had much luck with this?

I'm in the midwest, I think I will start the seeds indoors this week and see what happens.

Re: growing cauliflower

  • Yep. They do tend to attract some bugs but nothing awful. The important part is to bind the leaves as soon as it starts to set fruit. Just take a rubber band and pull the leaves up and make a  little tent over the growing cauliflower. If you do not do this the cauliflower will be off color and will probably not form a nice tight head. At least that is what my mom always did. :)

  • It didn't work very well for me. The plant grew but didn't produce much (not even enough to blanch it!). I'm not doing it this year.
