XP: coconut oil for skin?
After entirely too much agonizing, I've decided to try coconut oil as
my go-to general skin treatment for baby, and for me. Does anyone here
use it?
I figured it was worth a shot, as it's cloth diaper safe, nursing
safe, easy to get, and reasonably cheap (at least in comparison to
similar natural skin products). And if all else fails, I can eat a lot
of coconut rice.

Re: XP: coconut oil for skin?
I've been using it and love that it is natural, chemical free, etc.
According to what I've read, kind of everything. It's supposed to be good for eczema, acne, yeast rash, moisturizing, and has an SPF of somewhere around 4-6.
I ordered mine from Nutiva. https://store.nutiva.com/coconut-oil/.
If it's for eczema/dermatitis my son has both. We switched laundry detergent and soap to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS ) and Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) free soaps/detergents.
Not sure if we can solicit here so if you're interested email me: sgovernali@comcast.net
Most items contain coconut oil!
they sell this on amazon much cheaper... 2- 15oz containers for $13.82 with free shipping right now
I have what I think is a yeast rash on my finger that I've been trying to kill for months now... this may be the next attempt.
oh wow thanks! it's $13.72 right now for the 2 - 15 oz jars. sounds too good to pass up.
Ouch, I guess Nutiva's prices have gone up. Last year I bought a one gallon bucket with a coupon and free shipping, and I think it came to about $30.00.
