How to childproof the crank out windows?

It's the windows where you turn the crank and the glass door opens up to the side.  The screens on our windows suck big time and are flimsy.  The windows in the boys' rooms have two locks that you have to flip up but they are boys and they are getting older and it makes me so nervous that they might open them up during quiet time or whenever they want.  Just curious if there is anything to child proof lock these types of windows?

Thanks.

Re: How to childproof the crank out windows?

  • I guess I can just remove the cranks from the windows..

But when they aren't home sometimes I like to open the windows and air out the stink.  they are boys after all....I end up misplacing the cranks.

Anyway just curious if there are other options. :)

  • We have motion sensors on our windows that beep at the master unit and also in the room if they're tripped. They're fairly inexpensive.
