Is it legit?  I know that sounds stupid.  But I'm so afraid of booking it, then getting there and finding out the price I found online isn't really the price.  Ya know?

I have always booked my vacations (flights, hotels, transportation) online. I have used bookit.com, priceline.com, and expedia.com. You can always call the hotel afterwards and confirm using the confirmation number you will get when you complete the transaction online.

you should be a-ok. you can also call the hotel to confirm once you've booked. i love me some hotwire, but i only book through them when it's 100% certain we'll be going because you pay up front.

Same. We booked through them for 2 vacations and everything worked out great. No problems with the rates.

I think I've only EVER booked online!  A few things to check depending on where you are going - extra fees.  Is parking free?  Internet?  Breakfast included?  Resort fee? all of those.  Make sure to read the description of any extra fees, but excepting those what you see online is the price!

i've only booked online too, and never had a problem at all - either through hotels.com, orbitz, or the hotel websites themselves (which sometimes have better prices than the other sites!).

I always book online. Check to see if taxes, resort fees, Internet, breakfast, parking, etc is included. I usually travel to races or conferences/meetings and need to be at a specific hotel, so I go through the hotel website directly. Never had a problem with Hotwire either. Also check the cancellation/refund policy. Some sites/hotels charge your credit card immediately, while others wait until you arrive.

I am also an agent and have my own site.  http://www.ytbtravel.com/couturebridal  I always book my stuff online.  Of course i check my own stuff first but I have used others to as well and gone with the cheapest one.   I do usually call the hotel to confirm after 24 hours as well.

I know this is late, but I too always always always use expedia or priceline.  Priceline name your own price option is my favorite.  And like pp said, once the reservation is made, call to confirm and (i always) request a queen/king instead of two double beds in the room (its not guaranteed what bedding type you get, so call and request whatever you'd like and they can usually accommodate u).
