Bacon in the Oven

I know that we talked about this at one time but thought I would share my experience.

First, I am never cooking bacon on the stove ever again! It was so much easier in the oven. I took a baking sheet (jelly roll pan) and put a cooling rack inside it (I actually used a pan that is slotted and made to cook veges on the grill), laid the bacon on the slotted rack, and cooked the bacon for 15 min at 375 and then flipped them and cooked for another 5 min. Came out perfect with no mess!

Re: Bacon in the Oven

  • Was it crispy? I fear this next line will come back to habit me, but I hate limp bacon lol
  • I hate lots of limp things and bacon is def atop the list. No it wasn't limp, it was nice and hard :)

So would this work if I put bacon on a broiler pan???

-I'm not the cook in the family so when it comes to stuff like this I'm lost. Thankfully DH is an amazing cook. Otherwise it'd be lots of frozen dinners and pasta for us.

Definitely! That is one of Rachael Ray's other suggestions, I just couldn't find my broiler pan yesterday, it is MIA.

  • Every time I see the title of this post I think it says "Baby in the Oven," and I get all excited for you!  Then about half a second later I realize that it says bacon.  I guess bacon in the oven is the next best thing to a baby!

LOL Erin! I am pretty sure my baby oven is still empty. Sad But I am glad that my regular oven is full of bacon!
