Well, that was the worst trip ever. We were supposed to leave DCA at 1:50, fly to Philadelphia and then to Atlanta. When we hadn't boarded our flight at 1:40, I knew something was wrong. Then our flight was pushed to 2:50 and they started to rebook people. This is when I started crying.
We took a shuttle to another terminal to get rebooked and began waiting in a huge long line where only one person was dealing with people. Jim jumped out of line and went to some secret U.S Airways counter and got us rebooked on the last two seats on a flight to Charlotte that left at 3:45 and connected to Atlanta at 5:50, but we were not sure that Jim's checked bag would catch up to us.
We got to Charlotte ok and literally ran to catch our flight. We got there right as they were boarding and got in our seats. Then we waited on the tarmac for an hour to take off due to cross winds. We finally got into Atlanta at about 7:45 and by some miracle, Jim's bag was on our flight. I don't know how that happened.
We got our rental car and drove the rest of the way home, just getting here at 10:50. All told, from the time we left the house in VA until we pulled in the drive-way, 12 hours later, we could have just driven home and saved the aggrevation.
