pediatrician recs?

Apparently I need to find one and have them in place before Violet is born! Anyone have any recs? Something in Mandarin would be great, the daycare we're using is off Old St. Aug, so near there or San Jose would be perfect. I thought about doing a provider search on BCBS website, but I'd rather get a recommendation for this and use that as a last resort. Thanks!

We go to Baptist Pediatrics.  We see Dr. Tarbox.  The office is located off San Jose near Baymeadows.

I guess it doesn't help you but we will be using Jacksonville Beach Pediatric Care Center. The have an office at the beach and 9A/Baymeadows.

Ooohhh..I think she's the wife of one of my obgyn's (the one that actually delivered James).  I don't know her, but he's awesome.

We go to Dr. Mary's Place Too down Phillips about 15 minutes from Phillips and Old St. Augustine and really like it.  I prefer Dr. Sarah to Dr. Mary herself.  Dr. Mary seems a little to brusque for my particular taste.  But the entire staff is great and with James' recent health issues (rash, pneumonia, etc.) they have been nothing short of amazing.  They have been extremely accomodating when we've needed a last minute appointment, are vacc supporters (which I like), and really seem to care about James.

When should you start looking for a pediatrician?

The hospital will ask you for your baby's pediatrician's name when you pre-register.  I decided late, but even late it was about 4-6 weeks before I had James.

That's perfect. I just spoke with them and it looks like we'll go there. And it's only 3 miles from home (I know this because I pass it on my 9 mile run route, lol)

This is who we plan on using too (we don't have a particular doctor yet, but have picked that practice.)

We use Baymeadows Peadiatrics, it is a UF group. They are off of Baymeadows near Phillips. I love them. There are a smaller practice with 2 doctors.

We were using Dr. Mary's as well, but my insurance changed and they no longer accept it. I lived them though Now we see Dr. VanBennekom at St. Augustine Pediatrics, it's a hike for us, but worth it to have someone you really like and trust.

I know two that are amazing, but they're at the beaches. I'll share anyway in case someone else reads this :-). We use Dr. Mosolf at Mosolf Pediatrics. He is amazing -- I can't say enough good things about him. The practice is intentionally kept small -- unless you call while you're pregnant there's a two year wait. The other one is Dr. Bonnie White (in PVB) -- her practice is new, but she's been practicing for decades. She's also amazing.

Dr. Bonnie used to be at Dr. Mary's and was our favorite too!  Didn't know she had started her practice.  I'll be giving her a call too...she's a great lady as well as a great pedi.
