s/o- books- Chelsea Handler
Who has read a book by her? I always read the summaries and debate trying one, but I end up deciding against it. I feel like they are going to be stupid and about nothing. I don't know why, but I feel like they are going to be similar to David Sedaris books, which I read one of and hated. I know that a lot of people like him, so maybe I am just weird. If you've read them what do you think??
Re: s/o- books- Chelsea Handler
You can pick up most of her books on amazon (used, in like new condition) for $1 + shipping. Or at the library for free. If you hate it, it's not a full investment into a new book. And green, too!
I love both, so maybe I'm not the person to ask.... IMO, CH and DS are two different bears. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the vodka speaking, but CH is more snarktastic and DS is more dark humor, if that makes sense.
Those are great prices on Amazon. Maybe I'll try one out. I use SwapTree usually, which is pretty cheap, and green also.
I felt like DS was dark humor, and I didn't care for it. Sometime a book about nothing, with a little snarkyness is nice. So maybe I will like CH.
My BFF LOVES all CH books & highly rec'd them to me. I read 'My Horizontal Life' & thought it was just okay. I know this is weird, but I kind of felt bad for her, more than I thought it was funny. I wouldn't pay for another of her books.
I also read DS 'Dress your Family..' & thought it was dumb and a waste of my time. I wouldn't read another book of his either.
Ah! That one was the book I started with too! I had a friend of mine say I just picked a bad one to read first since it wasn't one of his best.
Hmm.. oh well. There are so many other books out there that I want to read.
I've read Vodka and Horizontal Life. They are just fun reads, light, humorous, etc.
Read them when you are on summer break and laying by the pool. They are those kind of books.
I love Chelsea's books, they're so funny. Lots of offensive stuff, but a lot of it's really good.
Has anyone been watching After Lately? I really like it. I actually don't like her regular talk show that much, but After Lately is funny IMO
Yeah, that is how I felt about the one that I read. IDK which one it was, but I would never try another one by him.
