I just filled out some applications to have a house party for a few different companies. I guess the way it works is they send you a bunch of stuff for free and you have to agree to have a party and share the stuff, then I guess you have to review it or something. I completed the applications for weighwatchers icecream, captain morgan, and some candle company or something. Has anyone ever heard of this or done it?

LoL, yeah, I would be happy to get to host that party!
I've done this a bunch. Most recently I did a Just Dance 2 party for the Wii.
They sent me two free games and a bunch of coupons. The best way to get accepted is to make sure you let them know in your application (if there's a space) that you love to tell people about products and would post about it in forums or blogs. It's pretty easy to apply and it's open to everyone. I've done a wine one as well as a Chex Mix party and a whole mess of other ones.
The good thing is if something comes up and you can't actually have a party, you won't get in trouble or anything. There is no way to really check that you had one. They prefer the party to be within a specific set of dates and you just email people invitations from their site. That's all.
You can post pictures or reviews to their site (or your own!) after you have the party.
Oh wow, that's neat that you won!
On the ones that I filled out there wasn't a spot to type anything additonal, but it did ask what sites you belong to (FB, MS, etc.) and if you would share what you thought about the party on there.
I am signing up for a BIC one right now...
