we installed our own kitchen tile 5 years ago. we recently bought a steam mop (eureka envirosteamer - love it) and have been horrified at how dirty our floors were! they got dirty so gradually, we didn't even notice!
we had been using a pledge tile floor cleaner, which was essentially "laminating" over all of the dirt, and just making it shiny, instead of cleaning it off! yuck.
the steam cleaner does very well, with a little help from a scrub brush to scrub the dirt off. our floors have never looked better!
now, how can we keep them that way? do we just need to do a hands-and-knees scrub every few months? i'm hoping for an easier way. i think we may re-seal the grout, which hopefully helps a little.

I agree. I always wash my floors on my hands and knees, with a rag and bucket. It really is the best way and honestly, it is the quickest way for me, takes all of ten minutes. The steam mop also doesn't clean grout. I would use it in between.
