Update

Merin ~ thank you for asking and sorry to just be getting around to this now.

My mom ~ has been off chemo for 2 months now.  The cancer spread to her live and on this last ct, they found a spot on her bone.  They told her to take a break from chemo and just live life right now.  She was able to come here for a week (with a trip back in the middle of it to Toledo).  She would like to come stay for a few weeks at a time but needs intravenous magneisum.  I've been trying to get this done, but keep hitting road blocks.  If any of you are in the medical field or have experience with this and can provide guidance, I would GREATLY appreciate it.  The docs here say she has to transfer to them and we don't want to do that, as she will be going right back to toledo.

Alexandria ~ is talking up a storm!  I can't keep up with all the words and phrases she says.  However, I do know that poor DH is in trouble cause both A & I are big time talkers.. LOL.  We were going to get PT for walking.  I had been working on it, as HMG does not take our insurance and then on Saturday, A decided to let go (as both grandmas were here and watching) of her chair and take a couple steps.  As of last night, we are up to 8 steps without holding on to anything.  So, I am going to hold off on the PT for now.  She is still a little peanut at 18.5lbs & 27".  She is stubborn and doesn't want help with anything, lol, my little girl is growing up too fast.

F&F are great and love that the weather is getting nicer so they can go on walks.  Our family room is on a slab and it flooded a few weeks bad, so that was a mess.  We had to move everything into the living room and pull up the carpet and pad.  We had to throw over 1/2 the pad out but we were able to save the carpet.  It sucked to have to pay for new pad and for them to come back out to stretch the carpet when we put it in just 2 yrs ago. We also had to dig a temp trench in the yard and will have to make the perm fixes this spring.  We are also trying to finish our kitchen reno that we started when I was pregnant with A.  I'm hoping to be done by summer.  I still have to do our taxes (any takers?? lol) and I think I have a kidney stone on the move.. Life is crazy busy!   Oh and we love our new TV ;-)

Re: Update

  • Wow, busy indeed!!!

I'm glad your mom is taking a little break and I hope that you're able to see her more frequently.  I'm sorry things are so tough for her though. :(

Yay for A!!!!!   I'd love to see a video of walking or talking. :):):)

And booo to water in the house! :(
