OMG I read this and it's so Max right now...

"Right now, she's really into pretend everything, which I can use to my advantage a lot. Like when we go to the grocery store, we pretend to find birds flying around, then they land on us, we talk about what color they are, and then they fly away. Stuff like that. Or if I want her to get in the car with me, I'll give her her pink binoculars and tell her we're going on a flower safari, and we drive wherever looking for flowers. She forgets about that about 10 seconds after we're in the car, lol, but it gets her in the car and that's what I wanted. "

I have joked w/ DH that either he is a compulsive liar or is having hallucinations lol. He really like to "pretend" with his emotions and feeling, like being scared, he loves fake being scared or sometimes sad. He says he sees things that I cant see so then i was like did I miss it or he is confused on what a truck is, I thought he knew what a truck was???  I was wondering if I should go w/ it or if I should somehow get him back into reality, this is great advice, I think I am gonna encourage it and see if I can use it my advantage!

  • Go with it! It's a lot of fun to rediscover imagination. Smile Yesterday at home, Lily and I (by her direction) took a train to Disney World (scooted our butts on the floor), and we went on the tea cups (she was on her sit&spin, and I had a pillow), and then we saw Cinderella, who apparently lives in my fireplace.

Lily's "afraid" of some random things, too. She said she was afraid of "bagoos," but then we made a game of it where Mommy caught the bagoos and threw them out of the house.

  • Very cool. I will start to go w/ it more. when he is "scared" he likes to make weird faces or run and scream!!! Then he tells me, "I am not scared of it anymore either."
