Ugh. Derek has to leave tomorrow for 2 months

I'm super bummed because for one, I'm prego and when I can't sleep at night (because unlike normal pregnant women who want to sleep all the time, I unfortunately have been given the hormonal gift of insomnia), he's the one who rubs my back, gets me a glass of ginger ale (because morning sickness is occuring at night for me now too), and wraps his arms around me. I'm also bummed because I'm 3000 miles away from family of any kind. I literally am feeling so alone. I have a few friends here, but nothing compares to your family and friends at home, and I'm just dreading the next 8 weeks. I am going home for my birthday in May, so I at least have that to look forward to, but I am hating the idea of all of this. I hate having to be apart from DH, now more than ever!
Re: sigh. sad.
What about something gender neutral like this?

I think they're super cute! They remind me of little Toms!
aww I'm sorry that he is going to be away for so long :-(
He is probably dreading it just as much as you are. I hope these next 2 months go quickly for you and that your morning sickness goes away soon.
::hugs::
::hugs:: I am sorry he has to leave. That sucks. I want to sleep all the time too, but it takes me FOREVER to fall asleep, so I feel your pain. I hope his time away goes quickly!
I agree with PPs, baby projects (if/when you have the energy!) would be fun and can help pass the time. I also tend to start re-reading some of my favorite books when my DH is away for whatever reason and I get so sucked in, I don't miss the few hours passing each day.
::more hugs::
That stinks, Val. It must be hard having just moved there, and now he will be away. Take the time if you can to really explore the area and experience life there! Visit museums, walk the local parks, etc. I lived in NC by myself for three months, and while I missed Joe and my family so, so much, it was a great experience and I was able to do so much.
Is there any way you can go home for a couple of weeks? I can't remember if you've found a job or anything. Hang in there!Sorry you have to go through that. It will be hard, but will make you stronger.
Plus 2 months will go by super fast!
thanks ladies! it means a lot to have your support and friendship
Cari Jo, my neighbor just gave me a box of B-natal lollipops that are basically the same thing...they're a life saver!!!
