So my original interview was with the principal and the curriculum coordinator for the district. I was sick last week, and wasn't feeling all that great, so I was STOKED when they called me back in for round 2. This round was with the same 2 people, plus the reading specialist and the superintendent. A lot of people throwing out questions - quite intimidating.
I left the interview yesterday feeling really good about how it went, but was trying not to get my hopes up. I had two interviews recently at other schools I felt I had nailed, and didn't get callbacks from those.
I left and headed to my old college roommate's place to go to lunch. (She lives the next town over from my interview.) About 45 minutes later, my phone rang. I didn't know the number, but answered anyway.
It was the principal and the superintendent. After I left, them apparently immediately decided they loved me and want to bring me on and they OFFERED ME THE JOB!!!! I totally wasn't expecting that, especially since he said before I left he was going to call my references. I had told him all three were from my previous position, and they are on Spring break, so I figured he wouldn't talk to them until Monday. He said he would still call, but he can't imagine they won't say amazing things.
I feel like this GIANT weight has been lifted off my shoulders!! The best news?? DH and I had decided once I got a full time position, I get to start shopping for a new car!! Whoooo!!! What a reward!!
Re: F/U to my interview
Not until August, but it's kind of nice to have the time to prepare, work with the teacher that's retiring etc.
It's a high school English position. 2 sections each of English 2, 3 and 4.

That's awesome! I was wondering if it was for the job you had interviewed for while sick!

I love you, Daddy...2/24/1953 to 2/13/2011
That's great! Are you going to spend a lot of time reading the curriculum books to prep?
Since you will have tons of papers to grade, if it were me, I would enjoy this time to read things of your choice too!
It must be nice to know already that you have a position for next year! Congratulations again!
