The Sad News - Re: Ryley

Tim and Shannon made the heart breaking decision to stop treatments for Ryley.  The poor little boy is just done.  Apparently he would just break into tears any time a doctor or nurse came in the room.

They discussed all the options with their doctors, but his little body was just not responding.

So, now he's at home.  The family will be together and he will get to be a 2 year old for the time that he has left, but poor little Ryley will become an angel.  We're not sure what the timeline is, but we're going out to visit with them next weekend. 

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers you've sent his way so far, your love and support for someone you've never met is astounding.

I am so sorry Raynes. That is heartbreaking news. Every since you brought Ryley to the board I've been praying for that poor little boy. I will still be praying for a miracle for them all. T&P to Tim and Shannon, they sound like amazing people. That had to be the hardest decision to make as a parent.

This is absolutely heartbreaking and I cannot imagine having to make that decision.  I will be thinking of them and praying for a miracle.  I wish them peace during this time.  I am so sorry.

Oh God.  This actually made me sick to my stomach to read.  Words cannot even express how awful I feel for Tim and Shannon and Ryley and the girls.  And you and Derek too.  I'm so sorry and will be sending lots of thoughts and prayers.

Oh raynes, I'm so sorry. This made me tear up. I can't imagine what they are feeling right now. I'll be keeping all of them in my thoughts.

Is there anything we (or I, I suppose I should say) can do to make the rest of his time as enjoyable as possible?

Oh no! I can't imagine what Tim and Shannon are going through. My heart breaks for their family and I can't help but shed a few tears. I'll keep Ryley and his family and friends in my prayers.

My heart sank when I saw the title of this post.  I can't imagine what they are all going through.  I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

Please let us know if, once things settle down, if you can think of any way that any of us can pitch in and do anything to help them out.

Oh, raynes, this has me in tears.  Poor Ryley.  I can only imagine how hard this decision is for Tim & Shannon.  They will continue to be in my T&P.

Oh my goodness. This is absolutely heartbreaking. My thoughts are with you guys and Tim and Shannon and Ryley's siblings. I just can't imagine. I am glad though that Ryley will be able to enjoy the time he has left.
