I wanna be an adult, too....

We're still living with our mismatched furniture from college days and making it work because there's really nothing wrong with it, and not buying new furniture means we can pay off Zach's loans quicker. Then, on my quest to find me a nightstand with drawers (Lola's taken to stealing my glasses at night, hiding them in her blanket), I find this....

and this....image

and it makes me want to go all out shopping. Poo.

  • LOL - I know the feeling.  I want "big girl" furniture - not the hodge podge of stuff each of us acquired along the way, or DH's not-my-taste bed-set that we kept when I moved in because it had the bigger dresser.  Some day soon :)

  • I can totally relate.  Our bedroom furniture is a mish-mash of college furniture from IKEA and Craigslist.  We want to replace it all for a set, but are waiting until we buy a condo to decide what sizes to get (ideal would be king to have room for our dog and eventually kids :O)
  • Same here!  I want a matching bedroom set sooooo bad.  I've been wanting one for years but we just can't afford it...maybe eventually though.  Until then, we're living with our ugly miss matched furniture.

  • me too...we just got a new mattress today but right now it looks ridiculous because it is currently on the old foundations...we got impatient and went for it because up until this point we had been sleeping on two twins pushed together in our guest room.  Our master bedroom is nearly finished being remodeled and when we get finished with the remodel we are making a bed from ana white and won't need a foundation anymore so we have a queen on enough foundation for a king...if we'd gone with a full size we would have a matching set but would have had to spend more money on the mattress and box spring set than on just a mattress.  Eventually we will use the full size bedroom suite in either the guest room or child's room but we'll probably get a mattress at an estate sale or something like that...

  • I must be in the minority... I dislike matchy-matchy furniture.  I prefer quality pieces that don't match.  I think it makes a room look more "lived in" and less "store window."
  • Our goal is to get bedroom furniture as soon as we get the loans paid down, then get a house, and as soon as we get the loans paid totally off, then we'll trade in our queen for a king, and all the furniture will go into a guest room, and we'd get new stuff for a king bed. Granted, at the rate we're going, I'll get the bedroom furniture when we're 80, but hey, a girl can dream, right? Smile
