Has anyone seen this? I had not seen it so I did learn some things; however, I mainly rented this (borrowed from the library) so that my husband would get off my back about what I'm not wanting to eat or why I want to spend more money on certain foods (some organic, grass fed or other foods). The good news...after watching this, he seems to not care that I buy less beef (and that I spend more to buy grass-fed when I do) and after discussing more things with him, he's insisting that I buy organic milk (score for me!!!). But, the fact that some meat is rinsed in ammonia or dipped in chlorine....OMG! How scarey! If you have not seen this, I highly recommend. It's educational/documentary-like but not boring. It's well edited.
Re: Food, Inc the movie
I was in pretty much the same spot as you before we watched it. Thankfully, it was the turning point for my husband. I think it helped that his grandparents and the older generations were farmers but they had to give it up because they just couldn't make a living at it anymore.
After we saw it, he got excited about going the farmer's market for meat and he actually wanted to join the co-op. It didn't just impact our food choices either - it has had a huge impact on every aspect of our lives. I'm not always trying to convince him why we should shop at local stores instead of big box stores, why I see a doctor who practices integrative medicine, plant native flowers, use products not tested on animals, use glass storage containers.... the list goes on and on. He actually wants to do these things on his own and gets excited when he can tell people about it.
I agree that everyone should watch it.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
There was a discussion on this movie about a month ago on this board. I'm glad more and more people are watching it and changing something about their eating habits for the better!

My heart is as open as the sky.
Read about it on the blog
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
