I'm sorry in advance if this isn't the correct place to post this. But since there's no GA board, I figured I'd start here (and I put a XP on the travel board).
I'm going to Savannah (and Charleston) in May with my mom and a few of her friends. We are staying at the Inn at Ellis Square and am thinking about Garibalidi's Cafe for dinner. While there are a lot of restaurants that came highly recommended and look fantastic, I'm not sure that all the women in my group will be OK with paying $30+ for an entree. I'm having a hard time finding a nice, but moderately priced restaurant that everyone will enjoy (my mom's friends are not foodies and one has celiac's). Garibaldi's seems to be the best option for a Saturday night dinner (even though it's still pricier). We're only there for one night (Saturday to Sunday) and I don't want to deal with Paula Deen's restaurant since they don't take reservations. Wish we were there for a weekday lunch so we could try Mrs. Wilke's, though. What are your thoughts on Garibaldi's or is there something else we should consider?
Also, we would like to do a ghost tour after dinner. The hearse tour looks totally cheesy and touristy, but the reviews on it are great and it seems like it would be a crazy experience. The other option is to do a walking tour and Blue Orb tours seem to be one of the better ones that also got great reviews on TA. Since I'll be with my mom and her friends, the haunted pub crawl is out. We'll probably do either a traditional carriage or trolley tour on Sunday but specifically would like to do a ghost tour as well. Anyone have a tour company they would recommend? Thanks!
