EEK!!!!

OK ladies, advice please!

My bestie's boyfriend emailed me today to ask if I could very subtly figure out what sort of engagement ring she wants!!! If she wants gold, white gold, plat, round, etc.

So how on earth do I find out????

I'm so so excited!

Re: EEK!!!!

  • Aww, how exciting!! And how fun that you get to help be a part of it! I really have no clue how you could be subtle about it, though. Maybe pretend that you're looking for a right hand ring, and ask for her help in picking it out. Ask her opinion on what she likes, etc. I don't know...maybe that's a crappy idea!
  • Start a conversation about your "dream" ring. If you could design anything, what would you want?

  • Or-  "oh, you know how I still post on the nest sometimes?  I was bored and wanted to see what was new on the nest and saw this ring,  what do you think?"
  • How exciting!!!  I would maybe start a convo about your ring and what your "dream ring" would be, like a pp said.

Then just see where that takes you and see if she brings up what she likes.

    Have fun!

  • That IS exciting!  Maybe sneak a peak at her other jewelry and see what she has more of, gold or silver.  Maybe open the conversation with whether you'd go back and pick the same ring you have if you could do it over and ask what she thinks of your ring and then go into asking her what kind of ring she would pick if she could.  Good luck and let us know how it goes!

  • I think if my any of friends were in a relationship that was at the "engagement" stage, we spent a lot of time talking about the relationship anyways and where they thought it was going.  Next time you talk about her boyfriend you could ask if they were to get engaged soon if she thought he would get her "the perfect ring."  Then from there its easy to ask what that "perfect ring" really looks like!

  • Thanks for the tips ladies!!!

    I'm so excited.

We do live near each other, like a few blocks away....and we talk about their relationship and them getting married and stuff. So I bet next time we talk about it, I could just ask what her dream ring would be. That would probably work. :)
