Hello Ladies.....  I am a newbie with a need for advice.  My precious bebe just turned 1 and I am having a hell of time trying to brush his little teeth.  He won't open his mouth and just spits at me when I attempt to brush. Arrgh!!!   Any suggestions? Also, can anyone tell me how I can go about inserting pictures on here? My photos are not linked to a URL.... Thank you!

brush your teeth and give your LO a tooth brush. They will copy and then start doing it on their own. It isn't such a big deal to get a big ole brush fest going on

My DS#1 had the same issue and I didn't push it, but paid the price later. He ended up needing a lot of dental work later. This time I will do it whether DS#2 likes it or not.

my 3 yr old LOVES "brushing" his teeth, but in fact all he's doing is trying to suck on the tooth brush. our pedi dentist said to lay him down in my lap and just do it. she said that he may not like it, but the potential of him having bad teeth later is huge if we don't do it now. we only really had to do that for maybe a week and he had had enough. seems like he figured out that it's easier to just do what he's told.

i've done all the tricks like letting him brush his teeth with me, etc. even tried going back to the finger brush for a while but nothing has worked. he hates getting his teeth brushed but it's one of those things that i don't budge on. he gets his teeth brushed and he can hate it as much as he wants to

I tell her to say "Ahhhhh" and she mimicks me, then I brush brush brush. But she likes to get her teeth brushed.  Try laying him/her down, so you can get in and out quick. GL!
