Holy scary

The July 2011 bump board had their first baby born. She ways 1lb 1.6oz and is doing well so far. Obviously in the NICU. That scares the crap out of me.

In other news, I had a complete meltdown over new underwear that I bought last night. They were the exact same brand and kind that I got about a week ago. Loved those so I thought I'd get some more. These are way bigger for some reason, even though they say they're the same size. Apparently my pregnant brain couldn't handle that right before bed last night and I lost it. Poor DH looked like a deer in headlights. I know what he was thinking too: "are we seriously crying over underwear? WTF?" Oh hormones, how I hate thee.

Re: Holy scary

  • Omg, can a baby that tiny and early survive? But your hormones made me LOL.
  • oh my god...

    that freaks me out.

(not the underwear, although i sympathize).

I believe 24 weeks is the viability date which she is right near.  They can survive but it will be a very long road.

Isn't it amazing what our hormones can do to us?  Some of the fertility med's I'm on make me ridiculously sensitive.  I've cried over wrinkled sheets....yes, I sure did.

    PCOS and Endo

Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
    BFP - 3/27/12
    Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.

  • Yeah, I get looney tunes from plain old PMS hormones. I can't imagine what I'd be like if I was pregnant or on fertility meds. I once had a meltdown because I decided I hated my voice. I'm glad the baby has a shot at being ok that early. That's crazy.

She was at 23w3d, but she's been in the hospital for the past week and they've been pumping her with meds (I'm assuming one of those was some steroids to help baby). She definitely has a long road ahead of her though. Baby's name is Addyson, so any spare T&P you have can always be used!

  • That is scary.  Hopefully, Addyson continues to make it.

March 09 Siggy Challenge image Melting Snow... because it means that spring is actually on the way and it's not snowing or cold.
  • Definitely sending t's and p's to Addyson!

Wow. That is super scary. We have have some friends with 2 kids that were both born early like this. Less than 2 lbs at birth. They're both now teenagers. T&Ps that Addyson will be another success story!
