Need some nursery help.

I posted on my bump board but no one is commenting. So give me your opinions please!

There is one wall in the nursery that I'm having a really hard time deciding what to do with. We're going with a french theme, pink and brown. Here's our bedding and the wall color we're going to do:

I also want to do an Eiffel Tower decal behind the crib in brown with some stars and a crescent moon in the "sky" sort of like this:

Here is the infamous antique framed painting that has to go in the nursery, per my mom. It hung in mine and my Dad's nursery, so I don't have a choice. I think it can work though given our theme.

So, all that being said, what do you think of these prints?

They're each 12x12. I'm not sure if they're too "buggy". I like the idea of the butterfly, but I'm just not sure. And I think I'd hang them all in one line rather than in a big square like they're shown.

I'm open to suggestions though, if you can find something else that you think would go better.

Re: Need some nursery help.

  • Obviously I love your theme since it is what I plan to do if LO is a girl!

I like the butterfly prints and think they could work, but on a different wall than the Eiffel Tower decal. I actually think they work well with the antique nursery pic. Maybe above a changing table or on a shorter wall?

  • I like the prints but I don't think they would go with your " overall theme "

when I search " french nursery " everything comes back with chandeliers and lots of draped fabric.

That's actually exactly where I'm thinking. Big Smile Above our dresser/changing table.

I know, it's pretty annoying. I guess I'm not going for the obvious "french theme" of poodles, black/white, chandeliers, etc. I want more of a vintage theme since that's how our decorating tends to lean anyway.

I think I've decided these are too buggy. I guess I'll just keep looking!

  • I like the prints, but I think they're too buggy for the theme. The butterfly one goes ok, but not the rest.

  • Love the pink walls with the eiffel tower, and the butterflies are a little "buggy" for me too.

I think the vintage painting would work well with that theme.

  • I think the butterflies will work with the antique theme, just on a different wall.

I think it will add demension to the room and not be so "themey" or "out of a box" and more of a complete room with awesome small details.

    Does that make sense?

Totally. Unfortunately DH vetoed the idea and said they looked to "old lady-ish". He's all for the Madeline prints though.

  • Not that my opinion matters now anyway but I also think they're too "buggy" but that's me.
