I love my mom to bits. She's super affectionate and supportive, and I appreciate that completely. She totally cracks me up on facebook. I practically feel like that third grader.. after your mom licks her thumb and wipes sleep out of your eye in front of the whole class...
On my business page at some point she said something about a blog post to the effect of "I always told you you should be a writer. You made me cry, in the best way. Love love LOVE YOU!" .... and then last night I posted something about how I'm a total loser because it cracks me up that my dog understands me when I say "Let's cuddle!"... so my mom at first writes back with a similar anecdote about her dog... then adds "and YOU, my dear, could NEVER be a loser. It means you LOVE your dog, and your dog loves you !"
Totally cracks me up. FB became the way for her to never stop leaving lunch notes. ![]()
Re: My mother on FB...
I have to admit I saw this on FB and giggled a little. It's the type of thing my mom would do.
I totally giggled at the first part too. I also got a big smile from the lunch notes bit. My mom packed my lunch and left notes all the way through high school. And when I had friends stay the night on weeknights, they got a lunch with a note too. Moms are the best.
I just shake my head.
I feel bad for kids with moms like mine, when they're still in HS and their moms are on FB..... I'm sure I wouldn't have thought it was quite as endearing back then. lol
That's sweet!!
And FWIW, you're not a loser. When I ask Kayne if he wants to go to bed, he jumps up & high tails it into our bedroom & onto the bed. They're smarter than they let on.
This entirely! I shudder to think how my hot/cold relationship with my mom would play out on FB.
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
Really? My mom mostly uses it for Farmville. lol Other than sometimes "liking" my statuses I get the real mom stuff during our multi times a week phone conversations. Parents & technology are hilarious.
haha I really don't mind it. I'm old enough to not be embarrassed. Her being on FB was actually really good for me bec she can be paranoid (like if I don't get a chance to email her back before I leave work or something, she'll stress that something terrible has happened).. so if she sees that I have FB activity, she knows I'm alive. lol
I will say that MIL is the only person I have blocked on FB, as does DH. And she knows it. heh
Love it!
Moms are the best.
My parents just got their first home computer since the one we had in HS died several years ago. And my mom just learned how to text. She's very behind with technology. My dad doesn't even have a cell phone, and only uses his computer at work.
However, they're OBSESSED with Skype. We can't talk on the phone anymore, has to be skype.
