Do you think 6 wks notice is sufficient to plan a garage sale?
DH and I are in charge of handing out the flyers for our Association's annual garage sale. I feel that we should have gotten the flyers out a week or so ago but DH was waiting on approval from all board members.
If we hand them out tonight, we're 6 weeks away. There hasn't been a ton of participation in the past, so I'm hoping to change that with the way I created the flyer.
Do you think the short time frame will turn people off? Or do you think 6wks is fairly good notice?
I think people know it's coming though and either they have it in the back of their mind to have a sale, or they don't.
The association doesn't have an 'annual weekend' or anything, the date changes every year.

Re: Do you think 6 wks notice is sufficient to plan a garage sale?
Last year when we did our sale, we didn't really price stuff until the week of as we were getting the garage ready and organized anyway.
Thanks for letting me think this through 'out loud'.
That is definitely plenty of time!
Thanks everyone!
Seems like plenty of time. And even if people think they should have gotten the notice sooner, there's nothing to do about it anyways....
