FML

Here is how my morning started.

 1. I drop my hairbursh in the toilet. I am a complete germaphobe. Fantastic.

 2. I lock myself out of my condo while walking the dog. Our condo has a back entrance and a front entrance. By habit, I leave the back door to the condo open but the back door to the building shuts and locks me out (which is normal, but I always bring my keys, except for today because I'm a moron and forgot). So I go around the front and try to ring the buzzer and wake my husband, B, to no avail. I have no phone on me (again, stupid) so I can't call. I then proceed to harass my neighbors by ringing their buzzers until someone finally lets me in. Then I realize the front door to the condo is locked so I still have no way to get in other than banging on the door and hoping that my B hears. He doesn't. I pretty much collapse on the floor and start crying. Then I manage to pull myself together and I go around to the back door to see if someone will leave for work (leaving the front entrance propped open). No one does and the dog starts shivering. I go back in the front, up to my condo, finally bang on the neighbors door across the hall and ask if they can let me in the back door. I have managed to piss off pretty much all 8 families that live in my building in one day (some of which I have never met even after living here with B for the last year). Good thing we are moving next week.

 3. I miss my first client because I am running so f-ing late.

Sorry. Just had to get that out. Still sitting at home, about to leave for the 9:15 client and B is STILL asleep (he works from home and gets up late). Those earplugs must really work well.

Ugh, I really hope this day gets better. It can't get much worse.

Re: FML

  • Hope the rest of your day gets way better! And boil that hairbrush tonight OR go buy a new one. I'd probably have to buy a new one.

boo/hiss to the crappy start to your day.

  • Well at least the worst is over, it can only get better from here!

  • Thanks guys, I do feel better now. Normally if I drop something in the toilet I would throw it out and buy a new one, but I am weirdly attached to this hairbrush so it's sitting at home in some warm water and clorox. As for B not waking up, I was actually really pissed about it (even though, of course, it's not his fault). When I finally got back inside I kind of wanted to bust into the bedroom and wake him up just for spite, but somehow managed to resist. Good thing too-he would've been pissssseddd.
  • boooo....miserable morning.

At least you're feeling better now.

And hey, toilet water is great! just ask my doggie.

Wow, what a crappy start to the day!  I agree, it's got to get better from here.  Hopefully this means that you'll have a nice and calm rest of the week.

Oh, also, a "toilet water" story for you, to hopefully crack a smile.

My mom always likes to bring me my favorite perfume back when she travels, from the duty free shop.  She always asks if I want the "toilet water" or the eau de parfum.  Like, literally asks that.  And I tell her that nobody says "toilet water," they say "eau de toilette."  She's unconvinced.

  • My mom says that when I was a toddler, she would catch me sipping toilet water with a teaspoon all the time.
