What would your HS "you" say to "you" now?

If High School Senior you could talk to the you now, what would she say?  Would she be surprised by anything that has happened since senior year of high school?  Mad?  Would she be able to say "I told you so."?

You get the idea.

Ha, something along the lines of this.  I feel like I was way more socialable and outgoing in highschool.

However, I'd also give myself props for sticking it out with the engineering BS and maybe a "did you really ever doubt" for marrying dh (since we dated in hs)).

And also, a "wow, if only you could run/train like you did in hs".  I was much slimmer (a 00 at A&F), but I think my body just hadn't fully matured yet because of being so active in sports/running

Yeah, my senior year of high school, I wanted to join a sorority so bad I could taste it (I was just what you think of when you think of the stereotypical sorority girl).  I got into the school of my choice only on provisionals (I had to go to summer school basically to prove myself) so I decided to stay home so I didn't have to leave my friends for the summer (stupid decision) and go somewhere local for a year, then transfer my sophomore year.

Fortunately, by the time I was ready to transfer, I was past the sorority phase.  I did a lot of growing up in college.  And sadly, this school was no longer accepting transfer students after my freshman year.

If I could do it all over again, I would have just gone that summer.  But I guess everything happens for a reason...I probably would've failed out because I would've spent too much time having fun and not enough time studying.  I definitely wouldn't have graduated with honors!

Ugh.  This one put tears in my eyes.  Not sure what happened with you, but I had one of these in HS and another in college.  Definite lifetime regrets.

  • Tracy's funeral was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with.  We were all so young and he was our age.  It was so scary.  I can still vividly remember looking across the casket, to the other side, and seeing a boy named Augie Lehman.  I'd known Augie (and all the guys who were there) since we were LITTLE kids... but by the time you're 18 or 19, you think of all of those boys as STRAPPING.YOUNG.MEN... you know?  And I remember looking over and his little chin was quivering and he was crying.  And, THAT is when I lost it and started crying too.  It was just so pitiful and sad.

  • "wow, you got fat"

"um, you're supposed to be a lawyer and have babies right now... or at least be editor of Rolling Stone and have hottie rockstars all over."

"you really started slacking on that tattoo a year thing huh?"

    "we're broke... really?"

  • You ladies took all the good ones!

    For me:

    "Wow, we're fat."

"That was not who I was expecting us to marry."

"We're a political scientist, and we LOVE watching government and politics all day?  WTF? This is not cool."

  • "YOU married HIM? But he was out of your social league... Who'd have thunk that that crush would come to fruition."

    "YOU became outgoing? Huh."

  • Oh man, she?d say tons of things because she was a know-it-all, Im-going-to-amount-to-more-than-you little biatch lol.  I know what I?d say to her though, ?shut up, you live at home with your parents, only have to work part time, and have never even done a load of your own laundry.  When you grow up and start living in the real world, then you can talk to me.?  I look back now at how cocky I was back then and it just makes me angry with myself; I wasn?t realistic at all, but then again, I guess most 18 year olds aren?t.

  • She would say:

    "Wow, you got fat!"

"I thought we would be making lots of money by now and living in a big city?"

"What happened to the Ana Nicole plan? You didn't marry an old rich man!" (assuming 18 yr old me didnt know how her life turned out)

"You only drink how many days a week? You quit smoking? But you can legally buy and use both!"

"At least we were party animals and cool in college."

  • I am with Tisha on this one. Mine would say:

"Why didn't you spend more time with Jake while you had the chance, you knew that he was sick, but you all acted like nothing was wrong and then, poof, he was gone."

"You actually married him, it's about time you quit dating losers and found a good one, too bad you wasted so much time, he was right in front of your face the whole time."

"Why are you being so nice to your mom, she is a terrible b!tch remember? Who cares if she has given you everything you ever wanted/needed."

Like Xan, I was also a know it all with an attitude. I would slap my 17 year-old self right upside the head.

  • What happened, I thought I was fat, look at me now!

Why are you right back in Juniata County?  You know how they feel about education here!

  • "You still work there?"

    "You should've experienced life more."

    BabyFruit Ticker
  • "Upgraded from Ron, huh? Nice."

"What happened to that teaching degree? You got into Ball State, so wth are you doing with a degree from Ivy Tech?"

"Wait, you have 2 degrees, and you're still working 2 jobs? What's up with that?"

"I thought we were allergic to cats....why do you have one?"

Granted, I'd also inform high school me to quit focusing on boys and more on schoolwork, and that not going to Ball State was the best thing that ever happened to me - the teaching positions here suck, as the head honcho of education is a moron and continues to screw over IN's teachers. Plus, had I gone to BS, I'd never met Zach. And I'm only allergic to the long haired kitties, in case you were wondering.

  • "He's gay?!"

Also, "You're 26 and don't have kids? You're not writing for a magazine? You want to be a baker?! You live in Kentucky?! What are you doing with your life???"
