**Gingerfeathers**

Hey Girl,

So We decided that since we loved Disney so much last year that we are going back this year!!! I never really thought that I would love it as much as I did. We are staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter this year, Do you know anything about it? All the reviews I've read have all been good and they finished remodeling the whole resort so that's a plus.

We were starting to panic because Chef Mickey's was completely booked up but some how we were able to get a late morning reservation so that made my husband really happy!! We are also trying out a few different places this year, have you guys ever eaten at Teppan Edo @ Epcot or at O'hana @ the Polynesian? We made reservations there this year because it's different food and looks pretty cool.

Also, last year we didn't spend a lot of time at Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios because the days we were there it was crazy busy. Do you have any recs on must do's at either park?

Thanks,

Christina

Re: **Gingerfeathers**

  • Oh awesome! We just booked our trip for this year too. :) We're going in September and staying at Wilderness Lodge.

We actually stayed at POFQ last time we went (two years ago), so I do know all about it! :) The grounds were beautiful, and since it's the smallest resort on-property, it was pretty quiet too. That was definitely nice! Try to request a corner room if you can--there are windows in the front of the room and on the side, which gives you a lot more natural light. The boat to Downtown Disney from the resort was pretty awesome too. It was a fun ride over there, and it was great to be able to get there with relative ease.

The only downer was the bus system--it stops at POFQ first, but then goes to Port Orleans Riverside, which is a much bigger resort and has like 4 different stops. So by the time you get out of Riverside and actually on your way, it's been quite a while. So plan for that extra few minutes on the bus when you go!

I have not eaten at Teppan Edo. We're not sushi fans, and DH isn't very adventurous with his Asian food! I've heard good things though! 'Ohana is awesome though. I love it! I love the Poly in general though. It's such an awesome resort!

As far as Animal Kingdom, DH and I are big fans of Expedition Everest. We also like to do the safari (can't remember the official name..?). Try to get to the park in the morning and do the safari first thing--the animals are generally a bit more active in the AM. We also did the Dinosaur ride last time we were there, and it was super cool! So I recommend that as well. :) The Primeval Whirl ride made me want to vomit though. It's like the spinny teacups on a lame roller coaster. No thanks.

At DHS, DH and I LOVE the Rock 'N Roller Coaster. So much fun! We also are fans of the Twilight Tower of Terror, and in fact we spend most of our time on that side of the park since those two attractions are very near each other. We also love Toy Story Mania! It's a ton of fun. But be sure to get a fastpass--last time we were there the lines were still really long, and I doubt that has changed because it's such a cool ride. Also, there's also a place where they have a TON of characters you can take pictures with. I can't remember exactly where, but it was cool to have all these characters in one room so you could go from one to the next. Ask someone about it if you're into character pictures.

If you want to eat at DHS, 50's Prime Time Cafe was a lot of fun. :) Highly recommend! Good food too.

Way to go with Chef Mickey's though! That's awesome. We actually did not book Chef Mickey's this time around, which is weird since we always go there. But we're going to try a couple new restaurants instead--Whispering Canyon Cafe in Wilderness Lodge and Crystal Palace in the MK. We also have dinner at Le Cellier (sucks it's two credits on the dining plan now) and Coral Reef booked, and one day of our trip we're heading over to Universal to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. SUPER excited to finally get there!

Can't wait to hear about your trip! When are you going?

  • We're going in early May and I can't wait!!

I'm so excited to try out POFQ, I've heard nothing but great things about it and I'm so excited that its a smaller resort. We stayed at POP last time and while it was nice and fun, it was also very very noisy!! The only not so good thing I have read about POFQ is the buses so we'll just allow for extra time. I've also read about people requesting corner rooms so I'll make sure DH tries to do that!

We didn't get to ride Expedition Everest last year so that is def. on the list for this time around. Last time we got there mid afternoon and it was pure chaos so we are going to try to get there right when they open. We all so rod The Primeval Whirl and I thought it was totally lame! I told DH that we aren't riding it this year!

At DHS my husband LOVED the Rock 'N Roller coaster also, I refused to ride it last year because I have bad motion sickness but he told me that I am going to ride it this year whether I like it or not!! It does look really fun. We never made it around to Toy Story Mania and were pretty disappointed about it, this year DH said he is going to run and get fast passes for it so we don't miss out this time around. I will def. have to check out the character picture spot, That's one of my favorite things!

I know what you mean about the 2 dining credits for Le Cellier, we were disappointed about that but decided not to go there and try something different so that's why we chose Teppan Edo. I was very shocked when DH said he wanted to go there because he is very PICKY and so I was proud of him for branching out! We are also trying out the Crystal Palace at MK and I've heard great things about that place also.

When are you guys going? Have fun at Universal being the Harry Potter fan that you are, I'm sure you will have an amazing time there!!

  • I suck at replying, sorry! Work is crazy these days.

One thing about POFQ I forgot to mention: Get the beignets. They are SO good. I pretty much lived with powdered sugar on my face the whole time we were there.

We're heading in September, which is our "usual" time. We wanted to go in late April/early May, but the timing just didn't work out this year.

Let me know how your trip is! I can't wait to hear about it! :)

  • Will do! The beignets are one of the main reasons I'm so excited to be staying at POFQ!
