Our house got absolutely pelted with large hail last fall and we're going to be getting new siding compliments of our insurance company this spring. Our house is currently a grayish blue color with white trim and shutters. The windows are white and will need to remain such. It is a teeny story and a half bungalow from the 40s if that helps you conceptualize.
DH and I were surprised a little that both of us really were drawn to a sage green main siding color with a sort of gray color for the shakes we'd like to have added on the dormer on the front with the storm door and windows remaining white.
This is NOT our forever house - we'd like to be there 6 years or less. The schools are a mess and by that point we'd hopefully have a kindergarten aged child and would like to move elsewhere.
So - knowing that this isn't where we'll be forever and that the house will have to go on the market at some point, would you go for the green or would you go for something less "creative" and use say, a tan with navy colored shutters? Our block is very multi-colored already so it is going to be tough to find a color that isn't already duplicated so that isn't really a consideration.
