resume question.

I work in The Netherlands with a ton of international colleagues.  One of the colleagues knows my husband works for a large company.  He told me his son (who is half british/half french) really really really wants to have a summer internship at husband's large company and asked if I wouldn't mind passing son's CV along.  I said, sure, no problem.  When I got the CV, it is in first person and while his background is impressive, I don't think it falls in line with how US resumes look (especially because it says "I" a lot).

Should I suggest to colleague to have his son change his CV to take "I" out?  I'm not 100% sure what European CVs look like so I can't compare.  Thoughts?

Re: resume question.

  • I think the US/Netherlands issue is a non-issue. It's not your job to edit, just to pass the CV along. If someone at your DH's company feels the desire to explain basic resume principles to the guy (if there's an issue), they can do so.
