What veggies are you planting?

I'm going to attempt a veggie patch this year - if the m$thaf@ckin sun ever comes out.  I've got some seedling starter things going (broccoli, napa cabbage, and bok choy) and am going to attempt cherry tomatoes (a fruit, I know) and soybeans.  Anything else easy I should try?  I already have raspberry and blackberry vines and I do not like cauliflower, but I'm open to anything else.

Re: What veggies are you planting?

  • We did our first patch last year. Our seedlings didn't sprout right bc we didn't give them enough light, so we started late with plants. We had 4 tomato plants (2 grape tomatoes and 2 of a larger variety), bell peppers, broccoli, zucchini, and squash. We also had a pole bean. The tomatoes were def. the biggest hit last year but we had an extremely wet season that started really late.
  • yay! so exciting :) I'm doing totally random veggies...right now I have seeds going of tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, watermelon (totally random I know but I wanted to try it), chives, mammoth sunflowers, cucumber and then just a bunch of daisies :) I think I want to add strawberries too!

You should totally do mammoth sunflowers just cuz they're fun...and HUGE. And you can roast the seeds :)

  • I tried lots of veggies/herbs last year and failed miserably.  This year I am attempting lettuce, onions, strawberries, raspberries and sunflowers.  I have the opposite of a green thumb, though, so I don't have high hopes.
