Friday! Best & Worst Parts of the Week?

Each night at dinner Ken and I discuss the best and worst parts of our day.  So let us discuss today the best and worst parts of our week!

My best parts: My new nephew Ian being born on Sunday night , saving $482 on my prom decoration with a promo code I got, fitting into my smaller size jeans w/o a muffin top this morning!

My worst parts: Drama w/my BIL, having to supervise another teacher's poorly behaved class yesterday (it was the longest 50 minutes of the week ending with them all being ticked at me for making them accountable), the small amount of sleep I've gotten this week....TGIF!

Best Parts:  Having my husband home every day for the past week (he was gone for a month long business trip), Mustang Sally Day everyday this week (we got to leave as soon as the students left all weeks!), Notre Dame women's basketball making the final four (I am in Notre Dame land here), getting 2 new coach purses and today being our last day of school before spring break!

Worst Parts:  Being sick all week (

It's been kind of a crappy week so it's hard to think of a best, but I guess my best was actually getting pretty good nights sleep on Tuesday and Wednesday night.  I haven't slept well for a long time, and I actually pretty much slept through the night both nights.

Worst parts are only losing 1lb this week after sticking with WW all week, and finding out my job is ending sooner than expected.

Best: My favorite cousin is coming over from West Virginia tonight through Sunday.  He made plans and booked rooms in Atlantic City for tomorrow night and bought us Phils tickets for Sunday's game.  Sooo happy he chose to spend his birthday weekend with meeee!

Worst: This mfing weather.  I can handle the chill of Spring, I get it that it's not Summer.  But Snow.. in April?!?!  F that!!!!!

Best: Seeing the house finally starting to come together and look great.  Also, and I shouldn't be this excited about recycling, but today is pick-up day and I am SO happy to get the Ikea boxes out of the hallway!

Worst: I'm exhausted and my spring allergies are starting to kick in.  I get a leaky left eye, which runs all day and is very red and sore.

My husband is an Astros fan, and I believe that's who you'll be going to see on Sunday, right?  He's very upset about the fact that they chose to have opening day where it snows, rather than here in Houston where it will be in the 70's and gorgeous outside (not to mention the fact that we have a retractable roof). 

The best part of my week was getting to see Carter again yesterday.  I also had a decent week at work - stayed busy, and accomplished a few important things.  Last night, Chris played softball so the girls and I met up there to hang out during the games...that always makes for a fun night, too!

The only bad thing was talking to the salesperson of all salespeople about refinancing our house.  After 30 minutes on the phone with him, I never got a quote or anything.  We will definitely not be going with that lender.

Best: Having my first, 1st cousin born on Tuesday, spending Monday with my oh-so-adorable nephew, finding out one of my co-workers finally got hired on full time, they have passed her over 3 times in 3 years.

Worst: Nothing terrible has really happened this week, but it is only my Wednesday at work.

I think this post too!  When I was a camp counselor we used to do this every night and it's so fun.

Best Part:  I just checked and we got our tax refund!  I filed one week ago, yay!

Worst:  My parents and sister are in Europe and I didn't think I'd mind them going (besides missing talking to them), but now that they're there (arrived yesterday), I'm getting pretty jealous I didn't get to go!

Worse: Jury duty Monday and Tuesday was beyond boring... It was mainly sitting in the juror holding area for hours on end. Trying to catch up at work on Wednesday. Yesterday was Steve's grandfather's funeral, and I had to miss another 1/2 day of work.

Best: Meeting Steve's dad's family for the first time yesterday. They were all very nice, and his grandmother gave me some crystal serving platters. After the funeral we all went out to dinner and it was great getting to know everyone.

Best yet-to-come: My brother and his wife are coming into town today (I have not seen them since before Christmas) and they are bringing their two mini doxies... Kiku loves to play with his cousins :~)

Best: everything is proceeding nicely on buying the house and we may be able to close early!

Worst: a good work friend from my company was laid off today  she's really good at what she does, there was a vendetta from above her in the management.

Best:  we are finally ready to finish our floor in our master bedroom and move into it, and we got a new mattress and I have slept much better!  And we found out that a friend who played trombone in our wedding is expecting and due in July (we see her during our band season but not really in between December and April so we hadn't heard until they started setting up the  new brass band schedule)

Worst:  We had our standardized tests this week, end of the quarter and I have a few seniors who think they don't have to do anything (to the point that one refused to make up a test), and my great uncle passed away this morning...

Oh also not my highlight...my SIL found out that the baby I was sure was a nephew is really a niece-I know that sounds terrible, but can't imagine her teaching a daughter to be a young lady and I'm not terribly excited about the name for a girl...

Best- Mike was home from a long weekend away, and seriously we needed that break. Its done wonders for our sex life. :-)  Logan is learning new things every day, she's turning into a kid right before my eyes.  

Worst- I am sleeping like crap and am in a real funk. The weather certainly isn't helping.  And not a bad thing but Logan is fracking exhausting. The kid never sits still and while she is cute as a button she is learning to assert her independence and she is one stubborn little girl at times.

I'm going to do worst and then best, end on a high note.

Worst:

-I spent about 8 hours Monday finishing a 5-8 page paper on the SINGLE dullest book in the entire world (Daily Living in the Twelfth Century).   

-This snow!  I could deal, I actually like snow days, except that Wednesday I took photos of the first Spring flowers in our yard.  They're now covered with legit a foot+ of snow.

-My job does work with local charities, and the clowns (Shriner) were at work all day.  I took the day off.  Clowns make me physically ill.  Good I didn't have to work, bad to not get paid. 

Best:

-H got a new job

-I got an AMAZING deal on a some Zazzle coupons, and I'm doing some brainstorming to come up with a cool art-themed 30th wedding present for H.  

-Got an A on an exam that I studied for with two margaritas :P
