Oh dear. There is a patient in my office right now and she is sue happy. Patient's should come with a disclaimer : "Beware, I sue."
She said she fell in a bingo hall, tore her meniscus in her knee, sued, had surgery.
she fell in sweet bay, injured her knee again..sued..getting surgery.
WTF. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
Patient's like this are scary.
Oh, and her appt is not until 10:45...last time she was her she whined about having to wait, and then today she shoes up 45 minutes early. give me a break.
Re: worst patient ever.
Mayhaps someone should just offer to teach her to walk.
Or buy her a fancy wheelchair.
oh my. Now she just said that she went to a psychiatrist and and he told her that he doesn't treat patients with her specific condition..she said that she told him, "If something happens to me, I'm going to sue you."
This is totally flame worthy, but I wish something would happen that we can't get the auth to do this surgery. This lady scares me.
Oh dear. I'm sorry. I would just try to be as nice as possible to her. Too bad you can't video tape stuff there.
I can imagine this:
To her cat: "Don't meow at me! I'll sue you!"
Even if she DOES get surgical approval, can't you deny her anyways. Surely, she could find another doctor. Do doctors have a "no shirt, no shoes" right to refuse policy like most businesses do?
This is what I say when these (and other) situations come up:
Unfortunately, the work volume for the firm is too high at this time to accept your case. While we appreciate your interest in our firm, we are presently unable to manage your case to the best of our ability. Our firm routinely recommends Attorney ___, Attorney ___ and Attorney __. Please contact their offices to schedule a consultation.
lol. Yikes. Can you at least highlight her file?
My last dog's file at the vet was highlighted 'BEWARE! FEAR AGGRESSIVE!'. Her's could say 'BEWARE! SUE HAPPY!'
Well, I'm sure we could tell her we can't do the surgery, but I think we are the only surgeon in the area that takes her insurance..which is how she found us.
& I assure you that at this point, if we told her we couldn't do the surgery, she will sue. It would be our fault if she couldn't find another surgeon or if she ended up in the ER w/ emergency surgery... (which we would get called for because the Dr. is established w/ her)..
Im' going to DD this soon.
Yes, we have referred a few crazycakes patients out so that we don't have to deal with them. Not for surgeries, but just to treat them as patients in general.
