AW: PIPs from last wknd

...of my Target purchases (mirror and ottoman) for guest bed:

And my finished product of framed/matted items hung.  The frames on here are from significant events and we'll continue to add on to it as we share more experiences.  The frame on the far right is from our first 1/2 marathon.  The quote from Michaels to frame/matte was $445.  My mom has a matte board cutter and had the frame supplies already, thus it was free for me.  The square frame from the letter is the collar DH used to propose.  Joanne's wanted $645 to frame shadow box style.  I found that frame (mention for a graduation tassle) for $12 and DIYed. Love!

And here's Oscar from his bday last night:

  • Looks great, I'm glad you and your mom were able to do the frames, because those Michaels/JoAnns prices are ridiculous! and OMG those Oscar pics are killing me, he is just too cute! I love the second one where he is covering his face with his paws!!

  • I would like to trade dogs with you. Wink

And, the frames look great!  I always meant to do something with my half marathon medals, but they're still sitting in a box!

  • Looks great Hannah! I need to learn to be more crafty, I have ton's of things I would like to put in nice frames but they are all still in boxes.

Oscar is so cute! Hope he had a great Birthday!

  • thanks all!  I said on FB that I think Oscar is being bashful...but really he was trying to take the hat off :O)
  • Those Oscar pics are adorable.  We celebrate our dog's adoption day, but we haven't made her wear a hat yet.

Also I love the frames.  I can't believe how much stores charge for it.  Michael's constantly has the 60% off framing coupons so I am sure they mark it up to make up for the 60% off.

Yes, this is my thought too.  When I got the quote from Joannes and the girl said it was $300 something I was like so with a coupon it'd be around $150 and she said, "no that price is with the coupon" I was dumbfounded!
  • All the new stuff looks really good!  Great job with the frames.  Stupid over-priced stores!

That second pic of Oscar is sooo cute!!!

Seriously!? Thats freaking bananas! I would much rather take it to a professional framing shop, or even a local business and pay that much.  Craziness...
