THE ROCK SAYS IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON

Did anyone play any good jokes today?

Re: THE ROCK SAYS IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON

  • At the beginning of lunch today, we told the k-3 graders that we were having an early dismissal. They thought it was awesome and laughed and played all lunch. Then after they dumped their trays we told them it was an April Fool's joke. Not the greatest, but still pretty funny.

  • Field trip money was due yesterday. I had 3 of my 5th graders convinced that I never got theirs and they weren't going. They were almost in tears. Bahahaha. I'm so mean.

A coworker friend tried to tell me she got engaged last night. I called April Fools on that one right away.

  • Wow, mean teachers! hahaha!

I haven't done any yet but I think when I get home I might tell my husband that I'm going vegetarian. We're big meat eaters so his reaction will be funny.
  • I wasn't around to participate in theAE funness, but did do some pranks.  My BFF and I are 12 and like to prank call our friends.

-She called Dave and told him we were out and I got pulled over for speeding, then talked back to the cop and they took me in to the station. (I had just been pulled over Sunday when I was with him and the cop said I argued.) Dave fell asleep so when he woke up and got the message, he called both of us freaking out about where to come and get me.

-We called our friend who is having her wedding reception next week and has a phobia of midgets.  We said we were confirming the order of midgets as entertainment for the wedding.  I am sorry if this offends anyone.  Also, she is very laidback and already got married in Jamaica, so this wouldn't send her into bridezilla freakout mode.

We called me goofy friend who posts weird stuff on facebook and told him we were from HR and we have concerns about his Internet activity.

We also called our other college friend and pretended to be her grandmother asking what all this facebook stuff is about.  My friend does a great "back in the good ol days" voice and we used to joke about that stuff.

  • I thought about using a doctored ultrasound picture and posting it to Facebook as "BabyBaby...#2" but by the time I got to my computer, it would have been too late to be truly appreciated.

I actually played a baby joke on Craig. (And I thought about posting it on Facebook too.)

We had a meet and greet with a pediatrician at my women's clinic today, and afterward Craig left and I stopped by my midwives office to pee in a cup.  (Thought I might have a UTI.)

When Craig got home from work,  I told him the midwives had me get another ultrasound while I was there and that I broke down and asked what the sex of the baby was.

Craig looked at me seriously and said, "So you know now?!  That's mean!  What is it?"

Of course right then I had to tell him I was kidding.  I was surprised he actually believed I did that though.

I thought about doing this to Danny too, (but would be an unplanned first PG)....but I'm WAY to superstitious about that kind of stuff. I can't even call of work due to a fake family emergency because I'm afraid someone will die in a car accident because I lied to get a day off.

Hahaha I have those same thoughts!  I've lied and said I was sick when I wasn't (seriously, who hasn't done that) and I always get uneasy and figure that I really WILL get sick shortly after lying about it.  I won't lie about anything else though. Karma's a ***.

Now, see, I'm not so superstitious about calling in sick on a not-really-sick day. I just call those mental health days. Sometimes you just need a day (when you're not hacking up a lung) to recharge. It's best for everyone in the long run. Wink
