I planted some red cabbage last fall. It didn't get very big.
Then in Feb it started growing. the leaves got bigger, etc, but no head of cabbage. Now it looks almost like lettuce that has bolted.
I'm not sure why I wasted the space since organic red cabbage is $1.99/head
Re: has anyone grown cabbage
I have not grown cabbage but did grow some butter lettuce last year. I was surprised at how easy it was. I think for me it was just luck as I don't really have a green thumb just yet. I can tell you that it did great in mostly shade. Most everything I have planted that says "full 6-8 hour sun" is too much for my CA area heat. Everything else scorched and died in full sun.
