Anyone use Feline Pine for their kitty?

This looked like a great alternative to the traditional clumping litter, but my kitty WILL NOT poop in the litter box anymore.  I've tried putting her regular litter on top as they suggest for finicky cats, but she still goes on the floor (yuck).  Any one else have this problem?  What do you use for litter (looking for something that won't track as easily and also a more green alternative)?  TIA!

Re: Anyone use Feline Pine for their kitty?

  • I use the Feline Pine for multiple cats. My kitty also hates the pellet kind, but we have (almost) no problems with the clumping, shaved kind (I say almost because she is a kitty and, well, cats are finicky). Warning though, the litter is clingy, so it gets everywhere your cat goes; and if it gets wet, it leaves a weird film.

  • We tried clumping Feline Pine, but it smelled terrible after a couple of days.  We're now using World's Best...it has a slight feed mill smell, but contains the pet odor well for us.
  • We have one cat.  We used to use the regular feline pine and it was great.  Then we got a dog and everything changed (dog's not allowed where the litterbox is but introducing a dog changed our cat's behavior).  Now we use the clumping kind and she's a lot better.  It tracks everywhere, though (like, the litterbox is downstairs and we find the stuff on the couch in the den upstairs).  There are rugs you can put down to reduce that, and i hear they work, but anything we put down our cat pees on (because apparently getting a dog mader her batshitcrazy).

  • i'm new here... (::waves::) ...but thought i'd throw in my two cents.

we have been using the worlds best for a few months now.  it's okay, and i definitely like it better than feline pine.

...but i can't help but wonder whether this is yet another example of me inadvertently contributing to industrial farming practices.  i highly doubt they are harvesting these corn cobs from sustainable sources.

    what do you guys think?

  • we switch between Feline Pine & World's Best and haven't had issues. We have 2 cats (had 3 up til a month ago) and no one has been put off by it.
  • I LOVE the FP pellets, but one of our cats won't use it. I don't really like the clumping FP. It tracks badly and gets all gross and gunky in the bottom of the litter pan. We currently use World's Best. It's expensive, but it really is the best clumping litter I've tried (and I've tried a lot of different things!). It does track, but not as badly as the FP shavings - I think because it's heavier. All clumping litter tracks to some extent. I still wish that one cat would use the FP pellets.
  • We use Nature's Mircale corn cob litter and it's been my favorite non-clay litter by far.
