already monday?

i think the title of the post covers it.

anyone have good stories to share?

i got a new ski jacket, had a great time this weekend, derailed my diet, flipped and slipped down the ski hill (worst crash to date), watched gerren kick assss at the pond skim, and got our new big bed.  that about covers it.

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiiii Everyone!!!!!!!!! I have 4.3 seconds to stop and say hi!

Things are going well, DH has been busy doing yard work and getting things growing.......we go tommorow to see ENT to go over CT results and get surgery schelude for his deviated setum and polpy problem in his nasal canal.

School.........well I am getting down the next 25 days til this semster is over! I will never again take an online course. I actually thought I was going to have to withdrawl but Im passing with a B average!

We are TTC but doing it  fly by the seat of your pants style. We figure if it happens great but Im not doing temps, or completing gone babyzilla tracker style yet! So since Cliff Lee is finally home with the Phillies we are on a 3 game winning streak I can only say let the games begin!!!

    Hope everyone is doing well!!!

  • Hi Mary!  Good to see you, glad all is well.

Pretty boring weekend.  It was 84 and beatiful on Saturday, 40 and snowing on Sunday.  My knee is killing me!

Went to the Mammoth lacrosse game Saturday night.  Drank water and took apples.  Be alerted, hell just froze over.  Was my fist game in 5 years not drinking.  Yeesh.  Diet is going well though.  Got down and dirty w/ DH Sunday morn and later that day he says, "you'd better not get pregnant!"  Here's hoping :p

  • We had a pretty good weekend. Friday was opening day we went to the Rays game. Are teams (Red Sox and Rays) are both 0-3. Oh well not to concerned.

Besides the game we had a pretty lame weekend.

  • Morning.

This weekend went way too quickly. We didn't do anything interesting at all.

This morning I woke up and found a few ants in my kitchen. Ick. I know its common every spring in MD to get these annoying bastards, but I can't stand it. I went all crazy lady with the can of ant killer and I've been itchy all morning.

So at lunch time I'm going out to get traps for them. And then the second I get home, I'm cleaning the kitchen again from top to bottom. Ick.

  • Mondays suck.  Period.

I'm exhausted today!  Our dog was chowing on a bone yesterday and it must have caught up with him b/c he woke up twice last night and puke.  awesome.  I felt bad for the poor guy, but I was so tired afterwards!  ugh!

we had some crazy storms roll by last night with massive amount of hail.  thankfully no damage to J's truck.

    Happy monday all!

  • Agreed, this monday is definitely teh suck.  But it's cause I had an AWESOME birthday weekend, and I'll like nothing better than staying n bed all day right now.

I had a ton of friends show up to surprise me for the weekend.   I had a great birthday dinner, went to a very exciting opening day game for the phillies - great seats too.  And then on sat night the boys got us a car so all the girls could go dancing out at a club.  SO fun!

  • Happy Monday!  H and I had a good weekend - he got home late on Friday so we we didn't go to the alumni event in Boston we were going to attend.  We ended up just going out for Japanese instead.

Saturday we went over my parent's house.  My sister was home from school for the weekend so we got to see her, did some yard work to help my mom out, then she treated us to Vietnamese for dinner at this amazing little hole in the wall restaraunt.  SUCH good food, and so healthy I didn't feel guilty eating any of it!

This morning H had a doctor's appointment at my hospital - just his annual physical.  His PCP wants him to go in for a consultation about getting a hernia she found repaired.  He has had a hernia in his groin for several years now, and his PCP found it the very first appointment he had with her as a new patient.  It's been two years since then and she finally suggested he see a surgeon.  The hernia doesn't bother him that much - he says every once in awhile it will flair up - so I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of him having surgery, taking time off of work, etc. for something he's been living with no problem vs. risking the hernia getting worse over time and being more difficult to repair and a longer recovery down the road.  I suppose I'll at least make him a consultation appointment and see what the surgeon says.  This is when the benefit of working in the hospital comes in  - I know all the surgeons and can basically hand pick who I want to see him, so I have a little research to do....

  • update: it is now snowing.  on april 4th.  so much wrong with the world.
  • Monday is stupid.

    This weekend:

    • I babysat our nephews Friday. I was tired within five minutes and LORD can that baby pitch an epic fit.
    • I overdid it with my back so it's still not right. F F F F F F F
    • I did some hausfrauing (kitchen, both baths, vac & dust basement and top floor, purge makeup, remove closet doors and install tension rod and curtains, laundry) but not all of it.
    • Attended a baby shower.
    • Had dinner with friends Saturday.
    • Went to The Christmas Tree Shoppe.
    • Celebrated my youngest brother, a junior in HS, who verbally committed to Villanova on Saturday. He's getting 3/4 athletic scholarship for soccer, and they will offer him something academically in March of his senior year. I cannot believe they recruit like this now, with decisions made so early, but he is happy and excited and relieved to have made the decision. I'm very proud of him! Even though I'm a Villanova hater. LOL

  • Happy Birthday Alicia!  Congrats to MushE, Aspersia, and anyone else who is KU and I missed it!!!

LTB - we have a crazy carpenter ant infestation, it started about a week ago and we kill at least 20 ants a day, sometimes more than 50.  Many of them are HUGE and it is just so nasty.  Maintenance is supposedly putting down gel traps; I was nervous about the traps at the store because they say they're not safe for pets.  :(

This weekend was kinda shitty, kinda good.  Jeff's parents came to visit and took us to dinner for his birthday.  Dinner was good, the visit was meh.  I am uncomfortable having them on 'my turf' and I was annoyed that they were here when I wanted to study.  Yesterday they left and I spent the whole day freaking out, and made a birthday cake for Jeff.

This morning was my qualifying exam re-test.  I was sick all morning,  but I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes, this warrants excessive punctuation).  I don't even know what to do with myself today, I have spent so long studying that labwork seems foreign.   Later I'm going to Jeff's lab and we're eating the cake I made to celebrate his birthday.  My whole lab is in Orlando at a conference so I have no one to celebrate with right now...I think I will take myself somewhere for a long lunch and hide in a corner to finish my book!

  • It is snowing! The weather was fantastic at the end of last week, yesterday it was raining and snowing, and today I woke up to snow covering everything again. I am ready for spring, but the white snow looks 100% better than the mud.

This weekend I canned more maple syrup, made a huge delicious dinner Saturday night, cleaned, and worked. My brother and his fiance are visiting next weekend so more organizing and cleaning is in store for the week.

Congrats to the girls who are KU!

  • Congrats Laura!

This weekend was just ok, I had plans to spend time with H but then my brother, SIL, and g-ma decided to come visit so ofcourse we were with them all weekend. But my g-ma did buy me a little coach wristlet/wallet type thing from the coach outlet. Last time she came here she bought two purses from the outlet and this time she wanted to go back and she bought another one. She says her friends are going to be so jealous (yes this is my g-ma). lol

But on the bright side, I convinnced H to go to the grocery store with me (this is a rare occasion) and then I got him to clean out some of the left over containers in the fridge, and he put up half of the load of laundry. That was a day to go in the record books. I told him my girls on TN H's help them all the time, clean, cook, and other stuff, and he said yea but do their H's work the hours I do, I said some do but it doesn't matter because I bet some of their H work 50-60 hour work weeks like you do. All thats half the reason he helped me do stuff. You ladies helped me!!!

  • Happy B-day to Alicia and congrats to Laura!

This weekend went by waaaay to fast.  Saturday was an all day training at the Women's Crisis Center.  We saw an HBO video on Wendy Maldonado.  She killed her husband by bashing his head in with a hammer.  She was a victim onf DV, and was beaten every day.  The video was tough to watch, especially when the youngest son made a statement (at sentencing) that he remembers being beaten in preschool.  It was heartbreaking.

Sunday was spent re-arranging our room and starting our spring cleaning.  We both don't like how the bed is now positioned and will change it tonight.  Richard left for work this morning at 4:00 am and I could not fall back to sleep, so I'm very tired this morning.

Waiting for it to be Friday again.

DH works about 55 - 60 hours a week and usually does a majority of the dishes and the laundry (washes and folds). This week we are also going to build a desk for our future home office. If he doesn't help around the house I will not do his laundry or anything else for him, I'm not his mother. Good luck!

  • jedaniel - I'm glad that we were able to inspire your H to help out!

Glad to hear it!  Richard's been working 12 hour days and he just had to work last Saturday.  We went grocery shopping on Saturday.  I actually prefer to go alone because he's so cheap!

  • Yay Laura!

    And happy birthday, Alicia!

My weekend was very restful. If H and I weren't at a hockey game, we were likely sleeping or laying on the couch watching movies or playing wii. Which is unfortunate because our house is a mess.

Today is sucking. It's gross and rainy. I dropped my lunch in a puddle (but luckily everything was in sammich bags or plastic containers). I woke up late. H is being whiny cause he's kinda sick. The roofers had to cancel because of the rain and that annoys me even though we're not in a rush to actually get the roof replaced.

Hopefully this week will get better! At least work is pretty slow right now. *knocks on wood*

  • Happiness to everybody with bdays and good test results and pink lines and the whole shebang!

Friday night we watched Tangled and made homemade pizzas with the kids. Saturday we really didn't accomplish anything except food for us and the hampster. Saturday night I went out and met up with a bunch of friends from high school :-) I loved it and forgot how much I missed them all!

Sunday was lazy day, E went to the circus with her dad and H and I cleaned house before out company showed up at 7. Wings, beers and laughs then off to sleep and here we are Monday morning!

  • congrats, laura!  what a huge relief and a great feeling of accomplishment!

    Fourth Anniversary

Laura, congrats!  What great news, and what a load off, to put it in your rearview mirror.

Brew, you're down 13 lbs.?  Congrats!  That's a big accomplishment.

I'm doing well, and had a pretty lazy weekend, except morning sickness has set in.  Not much more than nausea yet, but I'm getting prepared.  Just ordered a 24-pack of these ginger candies, which seem to help so far.

    image

We went bicycle shopping for me, because I don't have one right now.  There are tons of great paved trails by our house.  I thought I'd get a Novara bike to use the REI 20% off coupon, but of course I like the Cannondale (not eligible for discount) much more.

Congrats MushE and Aspersia on the BFP's.

Super double fabulous congrats to Laura on passing!

Yay for all the other weekend happiness.

My day so far - woke up at 6 when DH's alarm went off, paid bills, painted the door frame of the baby's room, showered and took a nap.  Need to go to the grocery store, but would much rather sit on the couch Sad

    The countdown is officially on...
