Today's Ask Me Anything is for Amellis.

Have you shared the babies names with us yet? I don't think I have.  I like the name Amelia and FI hasn't picked a name yet; he likes Abigail and Acacia (I vetoed Acacia, mostly because he thought it was a different name.)  We don't have any MN decided yet.  Although, I do like Grace or Kate for Amelia's MN.

He also mentioned that he was watching "Mean Girls" the other day (??) and he liked Cady spelled that way.

What would you have named them if they were boys? One of them would have been Joshua Christopher (and if we have more children, the first boy will still be named that) after FI's brother who passed away at the age of 15.  For another boy we would have probably called him Elias.  I am kind of glad that they were not two boys, though, because my BFF is naming her son Elijah.

Is the nursery set up yet? No, and I haven't really thought about it; I know that sounds really weird.  We have to move when the girls will be about 2 months old, so I didn't see any need to set anything up in our current place.  Plus, we are going to try co-sleeping for a while.  While they are tiny itty-bitty ladies they will sleep in the pack-n-play next to me, and then after (when they are bigger) that they will bedshare with FI and I.  That will give us time to change our bedding around after the move. I know.  I am such a hippie :)

What is your favorite snack food? Popcorn, with salt and nutritional yeast.  Sweet Heyzues, that is the shiit, right there.

How is your pregnancy going?  Other than the heartburn and the dandruff, WONDERFUL!  :) Seriously, I wasn't very sick at the beginning, and I think my weight gain is on track (I have a body image hang-up that won't let go, so I step on the scale backwards and I don't let the midwife tell me my new weight.)

Current cravings? Um.  Is it weird that I don't know if I have had any?  I don't think I have been eating anything out of the ordinary.  I liked spinach A LOT in the first tri.  Apples, maybe, I think I eat about three a week now.  Maybe for protein?  I will get this feeling like, "If I don't eat a veggie burger/beans/tofu like yesterday, I think I will go nuts."  I haven't made FI go and get anything from the store though.

What is your favorite restaurant? It is a toss up between Pizza Fusion or Chipotle.  And sometimes, since it is close to work, Subway.  I get the kid's meal veggie delite.  Yum!

Are you taking time off work after the babies are born?  Yes.  I am hoping to take at least 6 weeks off, but who knows?  I am saving hardcore, since my lat. leave is unpaid, and I hope to work until my water breaks, if everything keeps going as smoothly as it has.  I might be able to take more.  Also, my boss is going to ask about possibly setting up a work from home thing for me, so that is a possiblity, too.

What are your favorite things to cook? Hm...I think almost anything.  I like to veganize anything that was a comfort food from "before."  Except for meat analogues - I have tried a few times, and I don't like to make them.

What made you decide to cheat a little while pregnant? (On vegan diet) Honestly?  Probably laziness.  And I have always been at least a little flexible here and there (Like, maybe something doesn't say vegan on it, but I don't recognize anything not vegan on the ingredients, then I go with it.)  And I figured, you know, I am pretty sure this is the last pregnancy, so maybe I should spoil myself a little.  And I will go back to normal when I am not pregnant anymore.  I wanted to be completely vegan the whole time, but I think that since I have only been doing this for less than a year, it was a little overwhelming at first.

  • Where are you from?

    What's your favorite Sunday activity?

    Do you like baseball?

Where are you from? The Thriving Metropolis of Titusville, FL.  Well, now that the space shuttle program is down for a few years, no longer thriving.  Eek!

What's your favorite Sunday activity? Oh.  That's a hard one.  Maybe baking?  Reading, and relaxing.  I do most of my chores on Saturday, so I just veg on Sunday.

Do you like baseball? I like it! I would love to go see a game, but it is hard to get anyone to go with me.  I don't get it.  FI is from Brooklyn and a decent Yankees fans, but since he doesn't like watching sports on TV, I guess he thinks it would be the same in a stadium?
