Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
If something says organic, then does that mean that is non-gmo? Sorry I'm just a bit confused. Thanks!
Re: Silly question...
Short answer, yes.

While it's true that you can buy non-GMO products that were grown conventionally, in order to receive organic certification, GMOs cannot be used. This is one reason GMO contamination (ie. the new GMO alfalfa) is a problem.
SuperGreen is our board "expert" on GMOs. She put together an excellent guide on how to avoid GMO products. Page her if you're interested in it.
Hello!
If it's certified organic, meaning it has the USDA Organic seal, then it is not GMO. You're fine. Even products that say "made with organic ingredients" are not GMO. For example, "made with organic ingredients" means 70% of the product must be organic, but 100% are non-GMO. I carry a non-GMO guide in my purse, e-mail me at elaine dot dubin at gmail dot com if you'd like one.
