what size bed?

I was just staring at my double bed and remembering my brother's shock when he heard Matt and I were sleeping in only a double.  But we're very cozy in there, and feel we've got plenty of room if we want to roll over and not snuggle.  But, just curious... how big is your bed?

Re: what size bed?

  • We have a queen size but when we replace it will be a king. Thanks to spoiled animals we don't get much room once they declare their sleeping spot. Its DH's fault the animals get so much bed space :)
  • We currently have a double and I can't wait till we get a bigger bed, hopefully a king.  I'm a very light sleeper and like to have my space to spread out.  I feel very cramped when DH and I share.  I think this is made worse because we go weeks at a time in different states so I get used to having the bed to myself.

  • We just bought a king when we moved into the house and it fits us and the dog and cat perfectly!

  • We have a queen and the size is usually perfect... until 3 furry things try to make me as uncomfortable as possible.

We hope to get a slightly bigger house in 5ish years, starting a family and all that, and maybe if we have a big bedroom, we'll consider a king, but I'm not in a big rush.

  • We have a King and it still feels too small.  Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that both Matt and I like to hug a pillow while we sleep, so we have a pillow in between us and I have another one on my other side.

  • We have a California King, which is a King but longer. It's quite big.

And can I just say, I have as much room with my cats in a CA King than I did in my twin before. Doesn't matter how much room they have, they will always sleep right in my way. It's okay, though :)

  • we have a double, but we put sheets and a new bed set on our registry as queen sized because that's what we ultimately want to have - I can't wait.
  • We have a queen, but we need a king. He's a flopper, and I'm a sprawler, so we really need the extra room. We always get a king when we go on vacation, and I sleep like a baby.  I had a king all to myself last week when I was in DC, and I was in heaven. (Though I did wake up at one point sleeping in the exact same spot I sleep in at home - right on the edge of the bed, so my husband doesn't roll into me, heh.)

  • Before th ewedding we were sleeping in a full/double but we bought a king with the wedding money. It is amazing! Especially if one of us is sick because they are not snoring or ccoughing right in the others ear!
  • Right now we are still sleeping in my Double from High School.

But Steve's grandmother gave us a king bed frame (that is brass Indifferent).
I can't wait to sleep in a bigger bed... once we get it painted, new mattresses, sheets, etc. Man, it will probably be a while still.

This, except we just have one furry friend to fit in, but even he likes to sprawl out.  We'd love to upgrade to a king for when we have kids to have movie nights in bed, etc. but it'll all depend on the size of the bedroom when we purchase a place

Ugh....we are in this exact same situation.  DH is the one who always lets the dogs in the bed even though they both have their own perfectly nice beds on the floor.  I would LOVE a king sized bed, but our house was built in 1907 and there is no way a king mattress is getting up our small stairway.  A queen mattress was tough and a queen box spring impossible so we have a platform bed w/no box spring.

I'd tell you to get a split box spring, but we have one and I hate it. So. Much.  Of course, my husband bought the cheap one, so maybe a nicer one would be better.

  • MIL got us a new king bed and bedroom suite as a wedding gift.  Now that we have a king, I cannot imagine it any other way!

  • We have a king and that is still not big enough. I like my space and I don't like to cuddle. I used to love cuddling but now I just want my space! I love our bed, but I agree with PP's once three dogs jump in then there isn't quite enough space for two humans also.

We have a queen. And after sleeping in DH's full for 5 years I have to say it's nice to have a bigger bed.

  • Our 10lb cat takes up about 2/3 of the bed at night, so Keith and I get what probably amounts to the size of a double.  lmao  But the bed itself is a King.

    Missing our little turkey.

  • We have a king, but I always end up sleeping in the middle giving DH very little room.  It's a good thing he likes to cuddle!  The king size bed is also very appreciated on the weekends when my son wakes up too early and we watch cartoons.
  • We currently have a queen, but once we buy a house, the queen will turn into the guestroom bed and we'll upgrade to a king.
  • We currently have a queen but would love a king. We're both big people and I roll around like whoa. Plus my cat always sleeps in bed with us and takes up at least 1/3 of the bed. A king would be too big for our current apartment, but maybe one day.

  • We have a Queen, and no pets to steal any of it!  other then me The Bed HOG...It wouldn't matter how Big the bed is I always roll over to snuggle and end up hogging the whole bed,

  • we just upgraded from two twins pushed together (which is the size of a king but has a gap which in our case was different heights) to a queen, but it is on top of the boxsprings from the twins-which leaves an awkward ledge on my side.  As soon as we finish the bedroom remodel we are building a storage bed

You'd think that after all of these years they would make a size bigger than King.  Even a California King is only longer not wider (it's actually smaller in width than a regular King).  We should invent a bigger one and put it on the market. Want to go into business together?  ;-)
