brunch or lunch place in Peninsula/Mountain View ?

Is there a place you'd recommend for brunch or lunch between the Peninsula and Mountain View area? Any cuisine would do, just as long as it's not too complicated to find. A place to visit (a park, a farmers market, a downtown, etc) within walking distance would be a plus. TIA!

  • There's always Stacks in downtown Menlo Park. And there's a Hobee's in the little shopping center across from Stanford. I'm blanking on other options.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • St. Michaels Alley or Cafe Brioche in Palo Alto. I kinda prefer Cafe Brioche for the atmosphere. There is also Joanies but never been there. Cafe Brioche and Joannes are right on the same street as the sunday farmers market.
  • I can't remember a place I liked for brunch down there, but plenty of lunch spots:

On California Ave in Palo Alto:

    Palo Alto Sol - Mexican

La Bodeguita del Medio - Cuban (I don't think they do lunch every day though)

Cafe Brioche - cafe, French.  Great bread pudding!

    In Downtown Palo Alto:

    Patxi's - Chicago-style pizza

    In Mountain View:

La Fiesta - Mexican (really good Mole)

Tapas place on Castro (cannot remember the name, but I think it starts with a C)

On El Camino (not sure if Palo Alto or Mountain View)

Tofu House - great tofu soups, good Korean BBQ, very casual

Tamarine - Asian fusion (I think it's on El Camino... may be getting confused with Three Seasons or another Asian fusion place on Palo Alto; regardless, all 3 are very good)

When I'm in the Palo Alto area, I always want either La Bodeguita, Palo Alto Sol, or La Fiesta...

Hobee's are all over the South Bay. There's one in Mtn View, too. It's on Central Expressway. The one by Stanford is in Town and Country on Embarcadero and El Camino in Palo Alto. http://www.hobees.com/locations.html
