I confess that I am happy that my BIL is no longer dating this one girl. A few weeks ago I mentioned that I called her out at a hockey game for some really awful things she had done to him and that I thought she was self centered. I'm glad it's over because it means I never have to see her again! It would have been really awkward.

I confess that I just almost had a kitchen fire. My stove area went up in smoke. Now, my house reeks and I may have ruined a good pan.

I confess that I ruined one of my favorite Calphalon skillets when my oil caught on fire, and then the dogs ran out the door when I opened it (including the puppy we were watching for a friend).  Awesome.

I confess I have serious guilt issues about not loving (heck, not even liking) this whole pregnancy thing.  I'm very thankful to be pregnant and for it to have happened so quickly but actually being pregnant has pretty much sucked.

I also confess that I've had a migraine since Sunday night and it has taken every ounce of my will power not to take one of my migraine meds.  It's so frustrating to know there is something out there to make the pain go away but I can't take it.

Oh calling her out wasn't bad. I just wasn't looking forward to seeing her in person again and now I don't have to! (Happy Dance of Joy!)

if you all really want to have a heart attack-imagine this.  MIL will cut up raw bacon, wipe her hands on a dish towel and set it down.  she will then cut up apples and other fruit for a tray to be eaten raw.  then she'll use her hand towel to wipe off the table we'll be eating on.  also, that hand towel has not been put in the washer for about a month, and when she does manage to wash her hands (probably only doing the dishes after the meal is over) she then dries them on that same towel.   She says she hasn't killed us all yet so we'll just have to adjust.

i confess i'm REALLY not happy that DH thinks i ought to get a job before we TTC next year. partly because i have no idea what i want to do, partly because there aren't really many jobs here to begin with, and partly because i think i'd like being a SAHM for awhile.

Hi ladies!

I confess that I am nervous about BIL's recent engagement. He has been dating this girl for longer than H and I have been together. And they have broken up and moved out more times than I can count. She is nice and all, but can be a bit immature and woe-is-me all too often. I guess we will see what the future holds.

What about working temporarily to save up some money? Even if it's something like working at Target? Then once you get really pregnant or whatever, you can quit.

Duh. You are correct. Hales, get a job in a dark cave so you are not tempted by anything, because any retail job you get will be a recipe for failure, LOL.

I confess that I'm not excited to be getting married any more.  FI's job just changed so that they are deploying with an infantry unit 6 months out of the year until the infantry is out of Afghanistan.  At least three years.  And he's HAPPY about it.  Oh, and he wants to be there for the birth of our kids.  Which means we can only try to get pregnant for two months out of the year.  I just feel nauseous when I think about the first three years of our marriage, trying to have kids, etc.  And I don't know what to do about it.

lol, this is EXACTLY why i cannot have a retail job. i would probably end up spending even MORE!!

i'm contemplating applying for a bank teller job.

didn't you know this could be a possibility when you got into a relationship with a military man? every army wife i know has known from the get-go it's not easy, and it's a lot more to deal with than most "regular" marriages. as for the kids thing...i don't know how old you are, or what your FI intends to do once this deployment session is over...but why not wait to have kids until that 3 year tour is over? it's lovely he wants to be there for the birth...BUT it's just not realistic. the military is notorious for changing orders and plans at the last minute, JUST LIKE YOU'RE DEALING WITH RIGHT NOW. so trying to plan on getting pregnant when he'll be home at the end is super unrealistic.  what if the baby comes early? what if you deliver late and it's toward the end of his leave time?

sounds to me like you need to really decide if it's worth it to you to be married to this man with the life you didn't plan...

He's not military.  He's a civilian contractor.  He can switch jobs, but refuses to apply for any others until he has a deployment under his belt with the company.  If he were military, no problem (we're both veterans) - he wouldn't have control over it.  As it is - his choice completely.
