Pizza Dip

Tomorrow we are having a baby shower for one of my friends at work, and I said that I'd bring a couple of snacks.

I had decided on chips & queso and Italian dip, until I found this recipe, that I can put together at home tonight, and then just put it in the microwave tomorrow at the office before the shower.

Does it seem too good to be true?

What You Need

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup  pizza sauce
1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
2 Tbsp.  KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 Tbsp. each chopped red and green peppers
1 tsp.  Italian seasoning
RITZ Crackers

Make It

SPREAD cream cheese onto bottom of microwaveable 9-inch pie plate; cover with sauce. Top with layers of all remaining ingredients except crackers. MICROWAVE on HIGH 2 min. or until heated through. SERVE with crackers.

Re: Pizza Dip

  • Sounds amazing!! I make something similar with cream cheese, refried beans, hormel chili and cheddar cheese, same thing, layer in a 9in pie plate and either bake it or microwave it.

OK so you microwave yours, too.  That makes me feel better!

Just didn't want to show up to this shower with a crappy, inedible dip!

I am still going to make it tonight to go with the pasta I'm making...just to be sure it's good - it has nothing to do with wanting to have it now Wink

  • Someone posted a recipie here a LONG time ago, and it's seriously amazing.  I can't remember who it was, but this is what they posted (obviously I saved it lol):

    Pizza Dip

    8 oz. cream cheese
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1 tsp. dried crushed oregano
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/8 tsp. onion powder

Optional - 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper flakes.  I also throw in a little basil as well.

1/2 c. canned pizza sauce - I usually use more - enough to cover the top of the dip.
    1/2 c. chopped pepperoni
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella - I usually use enough to cover the top of the dip.

    Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut the cream cheese into large portions and place into a pot on the stove to melt.  Once melted, mix in the sour cream and spices.  Adjust seasonings to taste.

Spread mixture into a over safe pie plate.  Spread pizza sauce on top of dip.  Sprinkle pepperoni on top of pizza sauce.  Cover with the shredded mozzarella.

Place in over to bake approximatelly 10 minutes (or until cheese is melted).

Serve with crackers, breadsticks or whatever you'd like.  I usually serve mine with these parmesean asiago triscut thin crisps and it's AMAZING!!!

You can also use whatever pizza toppings you'd like - I made a veggie on with mushrooms, black olives, etc.

  • Though I will say, it's a little messy. And very cheesy. I would definitely make sure there are extra napkins and spoons so they can scoop it on a plate.

At home, we just dig in and it doesn't matter where it goes. I assume at a baby shower it will be a little more sophisticated than how I eat at home lol

I actually made this one for our Super Bowl party and it was delicious!

I only am inclined to make the other one because it's microwaveable...which would typically gross me out, but it works perfectly for an office setting!

I do a very similar one.

Microwaving honestly isn't too bad. I'm def going to make this recipe for us this weekend! thanks for sharing.
