Chicago Newbie
Hello. My husband and I are moving to Chicago in about a month or two, and I know no one there, except for his family. I don't have a job lined up there right now, so my schedule is really flexable. We have been married for about 2 years.
I am willing to do almost anything, or will try almost anything. I am just in the need for some friends. Anyone willing to meet up sometime?

You might be better off finding a meetup group with your interests. Then you can see what types of activities and events they're having, and control the proximity to your new place.

Have you had any success with any of these? Could you suggest a favorite?
I, also, am looking to meet new people in the area. My SO and I have crazy schedules and our social life has not grown like we were hoping it would (moved last August). Work friends are great, but they are all busy too, so we do not get together often enough.
I signed up for a few meetup groups a few years ago and they all booked up so fast or no one planned anything. So I stopped going to that site.
I've had luck with book clubs (there was one on here with local nesties) and I've also met people at the dog park we go to, we meet up for coffee and dog walks often. But in the end, work friends have been the best for me.

Hi! I am a fairly new Chicago burbs nestie (new to the nest, not chi). I've always wanted to join a book club but never really known of any for my age group, they all seem like older women. Do you live in the city or burbs? I live in the burbs... Also, do you know which book you will be reading?
