Good appt!

We had a great first appt!  Did an ultrasound, and found out that we were a little off on the due date, so now the new one is Oct 27th, rather than Nov 2nd.  I do have a cold, so the doc prescribed me a Zpac.  Anyone take one of those while pregnant.  She assured me it was safe, but I am one of those freaks that doesn't even take Tylenol during pregnancy (even when I had to get 10 stitches in my foot with being preg with K).  Just want to assure that it is safe.  Especially, with the new reports out now, saying limit the OTC stuff.

TIA!  And, thank goodness for a good appt!  Such relief!

Re: Good appt!

  • Yay!  Glad to hear things are moving along well.  I'm super excited for you Tasha!

  • Great news! I am glad to hear you had a good first appointment!

  • Yay! Also, ZPac is safe. I had bronchitis twice while pregnant with Ella and took it along with an inhaler (not as safe) and I had H1N1 while pregnant with Jovie and they thought it was a bad cold at first (ha!) And prescribed ZPac and I have 2 healthy girls!
  • Woo Hoo for the good appt!!  I don't know about the Zpac, but I was the same way with M, I didn't take anything!
  • Good to hear about the appointment going well.  As far as the zpac, they are safe for use during pregnancy, but won't do anything for a cold, since that is viral and zpac are a dose of antibiotics.  I find it really strange that your doctor just went ahead and rxed you a zpac for a cold only, especially when you are pregnant (since most people try to avoid unnecessary drugs during that time). If it was me, I'd just skip it and battle through. If you had pnemonia, etc. it would be a different story.

  • I kind of have to agree with All-His. For a cold? That struck me as strange too.

Then again I have to be really suffering before I take anything, pregnant or not.  lol!
