Clarisonic?

Ok, so I caught some of this discussion in SA but I don't know much about it.  Should I add this to my regimen?  I already do microdermabrasion at home--this doesn't take the place of that though right?  Any input on the cheaper Nutrasonic? Can I use any cleanser?  Is it good for dry skin?

I have so many questions.

Re: Clarisonic?

  • Honestly I don't know much about the Nutrasonic, or microdermabrasion.

I just started using mine yesterday, so I'm not a ton of help. But I know that I noticed a difference even after day 1. My skin just feels smoother, and more clean. It's supposed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and even out skin tone and overall improve the health of your skin.

I think it's supposed to be good for all skin types-sensative, dry, oily.

You can use it with any cleanser. I use it with Proactive. Then this morning, after I washed my face with proactive I used the clarisonic with just regular bar soap because it's a little more foamy than proactive.

I will definitely report back after some more time passes though, and let you know my results!

  • Steph-  I am on Day 4 of using the Clarisonic so I still have some questions myself.  Here are some things I do know.

It works for all types of skin.  I have sensitive skin.  I have noticed that it allows my face to absorb my moisturizer better and my face looks less oily at the end of the day.

It is not like microderm.  The directions with the brush encourage you to use their cleanser, but if you choose to use your own, they suggest that you use one with a specific type of "scrubbing particles."

Think of it like a cleansing brush for your face that uses vibration to loosen clogged pores and remove dry/dead skin.  Basically, it is a Sonicare toothbrush for your face!

Hope this helps.  As I continue to use the Clarisonic, I will share my "progress."

  • I would like to know where to get one of these gadgets. I get these little bumps on my face that, from what I understand, are pimples that never formed and my body encases the dirt/whatever and then I have a little hard bump. I think a scrubby brush would help a lot!!
  • Angie-  Mine came from Neiman's.  I know you can get them on-line at Amazon, too.
  • Angie- my mom got mine at Ulta.

  • Bill gets bad acne sometimes so I may be able to get this without getting a lot of grief about it.  Obviously, we would use different heads.
  • Julie- They make a more abrasive brush that is supposed to be geared towards men. FYI.

  • I'm going to buy one!  I spent part of the day yesterday researching and looking at reviews, because I was so intrigued.  Ha.  The downside... the price.
  • Yeah....it's pricey.

But if you want to wait a month or two I can tell you if it's produced real results for me or not! :) hahah. All I can tell you now is how it initially feels after using for the first few days. I can't comment on longer term results.

  • Ok, thanks ya'll.  I think I may wait and see how it goes for you guys first.  I posted on the BB and some of the girls didn't like it.  Microderm does wonders for my skin so I may just stick with that for now.
