Frozen meals for Summertime
Some of the meals I have entertained making for the weeks following the arrival of Pocket Pooks just don't sound appealing for the middle of August.
Any ideas of what would be smart to have on hand for those days? Like maybe just get a lot of grillable items on sale and freeze? I am not a pro at freezing meals and have limited knowledge on what freezes well, especially throwing this latest query.
I mean we aren't exactly going to want beef stew or maybe even lasagna in the middle of summer. I hope this makes sense.

if it were me, I'd bake lots of chicken breasts (I usually cook with a little bit of salt, pepper and paprika) and then individually wrap or throw 2 in a bag or something. Easy to chop up and throw in stirfry, make a cold chicken caesar salad, chicken salad, whatever.
Also, in the summer, we really like grilling pizza. I might try to get a bunch of vegetables and roast them and put aside packages of "ready to grill" roasted vegetables.
Make some sauce, if you're a homemade sauce person, or make some soups. Just because it will be hot, doesn't mean you won't something quick and easy to throw together.
I was going to suggest the grilling up meat in advance to throw into sauce, salads, wraps and such. Also making up some burger patties and freezing uncooked would be easy enough to throw on the grill and make easy burgers.
I also agree with chopping up some veggies to be able to have to throw on the grill in a packet with some seasoning/marinade for easy roasted veggies.
so basically what Kathy said. lol

Thanks ladies this sounds good to me. We do buy a lot of frozen chicken in bulk, and wraps sounds good, along with stir-fry.
I have not done a lot with beef and feel out of the loop on what is a good bulk deal or not but fajitas sounds so yummy now too.
Not to sound like a dolt but if I had precooked chicken, would I just thaw out in the fridge then throw on the grill or stove top, like what would be the smartest way to reheat in your opinion as to not dry it out too much.
Depends on how you are eating it. If you are putting it in a salad or wrap cold, then thaw in fridge, and if you need to heat a bit once it is thawed, heat on low in the microwave in something with a cover so it can "steam" will keep more of the moisture that way. If you are using for a stirfry, I would actually put it in partially frozen, you'll keep the moisture in the dish then.

Perfect thanks!!!
Pooks--
Do you have a supper solutions or any other meal prep place near you? That's what I did when Dunc was born. Went and made some freezable meals with some friends (had a blast) and their menu was season appropriate.
I have no clue. I will be looking this up now.
