I just spoke to Nicole....and I personally feel like things are going in the right direction. She's still very scared, worried, and nervous. When the DR did the rounds she said that his heart rate has gone done considerably and his fever has also gone down considerably which means the antibiotics are working. His xray doesn't show any improvement but that?s to be expected with severe pneumonia and bronchitis...his is still in ICU with all monitors attached and hands bounded. They started giving him breast milk (they only had him on fluids previously) and are going to increase the amount of milk he gets throughout the day. The Dr said not to focus on the xray but focus on the heart rate and other good signs... She said he looks much better.
He'll remain in ICU in serious but stable condition. They said it will be a long road and they can't say when, how, etc of what is to be expected. I think hearing the improvements really made her feel like he'll get through this. He is still really struggling to breathe but they decreased the oxygen they are giving him from 45% to 40% so that?s good, right?!
She thanks everyone so much for the T&P. It really means the world to both of us that everyone is so kind.
